INTRODUCTION
Management operations within a business organisation comprise of all the operations and
activities through which the strategy of a business organisation is set and employees performance
is coordinated with the intention to effectively achieve the end objectives and goals of the
business organisation. Effective management is essential for the operations of any business
organisation to be successful (Choi, Wallace and Wang, 2018). This report evaluates the
management operations within Monster Beverage Corporation, which is a beverage
manufacturing business organisation that specialises in selling energy drinks to the customers all
around the world. Monster Beverage was founded in 1935 and operates currently from its
operational headquarters in California, USA. Monster Beverage is owned by the Coco-Cola
Company and specialises in selling energy drinks to the consumers worldwide. Monster
Beverage is looking to diversify their operations and introduce range of newly created health
drinks for the global markets.

Business Functions of Monster Beverage:
The business functions of Monster Beverage comprise of numerous operational areas and
processes, all of which are required to conduct their individual operations in a smooth and
cohesive manner, through which the overall operations of Monster Beverage can be effectively
and successful within global the beverage industry. The core business functions of Monster
Beverage include operational areas such as finance, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing,
warehousing, distribution etc. Each business function of Monster Beverage conducts operations
that are vital for the overall success of Monster Beverage such as finance function of the business
overlooking all the financial aspects of the business like allocating budgets and marketing
function overlooking all the promotional and advertising operations of Monster Beverage
(Fettermann and et.al., 2018). The different individual business functions of Monster Beverage
are required to communicate and conduct their operations cohesively with all the other business

successful.
Elements of Operation Process:
Operations of a business organisation such as Monster Beverage relates to all the
activities undertaken by the business with the intention to create value for the customers. Such
operations of Monster Beverage include resourcing raw materials for their products,
transforming raw materials into valuable goods and products and distributing them to the
consumers. The main elements of the operations process within Monster Beverage are as
follows:
Management Accounting: This refers to the process through which operations of
Monster Beverage are measured, new alternative and improved strategies are
implemented and operations of Monster Beverage are measured again in order to enhance
them.
Strategy and Planning: This pertains to the financial investments required by Monster
Beverage for the business organisation to grow and expand its business operations and
generate greater profits.
Business Processes: This comprises of the daily operations conducted by Monster
Beverage that creates value (Heizer, 2016).
Quality Management: This refers to the process through which the overall quality of end
manufactured products of Monster Beverage are controlled and managed, so that the
business is able to provide customers with high quality products.
Information Technology: These involve digital systems that Monster Beverage makes
use of to measure and automate its operations.
Performance Management: This refers to effectively managing the performance of
Monster Beverage’s employees with the intention to encourage optimum levels of
performance.

Transformation process refers to the strategic business process within Monster Beverage,
through which the business organisation takes in an input and transforms it into an output by

adding value to the product. Through the transformation process, Monster Beverage is able to
create or manufacture end products that provide their customers with increased value. Monster

required and essential for successfully conducting the operations of the business organisation.
Monster Beverage is required to resource various organisational resources from the external
environments such as human resources, financial resources, technological resources or raw
materials which are required by the business organisation in order to be able to conduct its daily
operations in a successful manner (Dai and Tayur, 2019). In order for Monster Beverage to be
able to successfully manufacture and introduce their newly created health drinks to the global
markers, the business organisation is required to resource all the necessary organisational
resources such as, technological solutions that are able to manufacture the new health drink,
human resources capable of using new technological solutions, raw materials that can be
transformed into new health drinks etc. Monster Beverage can gather all the required resources
from the various suppliers that operate in the external environment of the business.
Product Service Delivery:
When Monster Beverage is done with the transformation process and the valuable new
health drink has been created by transforming raw materials, then the business organisation is

required to place focus on its product service delivery operations, through which Monster
Beverage would be able to effectively deliver their manufactured beverage drinks to their
customers. In order for Monster Beverage to introduce their newly created health drinks to the
global markets, the business organisation has the option to choose from a variety of
transportation mediums through which the business would be able to effectively distribute their
health drinks to various global market segment such as air, water and land transportation
mediums (Lee and Tang, 2018). After the products have been transported to their target global
markets, Monster Beverage can make use of various third party sellers such retailers,
wholesalers, vendors, distributors, salesmen etc., in order to effectively deliver their newly
created health drinks to the customers within the global markets.
Managing Capacity:
Capacity management is the process of ensuring that a business such as Monster
Beverage is able to maximise all of its operations, with the intention to produce or manufacture
the maximum capacity of products from its operations, thus maximising the overall productivity
of the business organisation for a set period of time. Through effective capacity management,
Monster Beverage is able to manufacture their goods and products such as the newly created
health drink at the most optimum rate, allowing for the business organisation to produce the
maximum capacity of products within a set time period (Gunasekaran and et.al., 2018). This has
an immensely positive impact on Monster Beverage as through effective capacity management,
the business organisation is able to maximise its operational productivity and profit margins.
Monster Beverage can use several management tools for their capacity management operations
to be successful such as workload stacking, performance monitoring, simulation modelling etc.
Managing Quality:
Quality management is the strategic process of managing the overall quality of a good or
product manufactured by a business organisation such as Monster Beverage. Through effectively
quality management operations, Monster Beverage is able to create goods and products such as
the newly created health drink that conform to the quality expectations of their customers based
on the brand reputation of Monster Beverage. Quality management operations comprise of
various operational processes within Monster Beverage such as quality assurance and planning,

Personal Reflection:
I feel that the overall learning experience of me writing this report has been hugely
positive as it has expanded my professional knowledge and resulted in my personal and
professional development. I was first tasked with writing the report on this topic by my teachers
based on all the information I had learned in the classes, but this made me feel immensely
nervous as I had never completed an assignment of this scope and magnitude all on my own. My
nervousness was also in part due to the immense research that I would have to undertake in order
to effectively gather all the required research and data for the purposes of the prior assignment,
which was something I had never done before, all by myself (Anantasari, 2017). But with some
help from my teachers and superiors in relation to the sources and journals that I would have to
consider for gathering all the required research I started the project. Though I faced some issues
and challenges during the assignment, I was able to gather all the required research, analyse and
process the procured data and research in order to come to relevant and reliable conclusions. In
the end, I was able to complete and submit the given assignment within the prescribed deadline
restrictions.
When I was first assigned the past project, I became immensely nervous and hesitant as I
had no inkling of how to even begin an assignment of the scope and magnitude that was assigned
to me, but with some help from my superiors who guided me in relation to which publications,
sources and journals that I would have to consider to gather all the required research, my
nervousness subsided and I became more confident in my own abilities to be able to complete
the assignment within the deadline restriction. During the completion of the assignment, with
each issue that I faced my confidence in my own abilities was questioned, making me feel
incompetent, but as I persevered through the task and overcame the challenges to complete the
report, it made me gain greater appreciation of how far my professional skills have developed
and made me feel confident (Ardian, Hariyati and Afifah, 2019). When I finally completed and
submitted my assignment, I felt overjoyed and jubilant, confident in my own abilities to be able
to complete all future assignments towards increased success.

In my opinion, while undertaking the prior assignment, I faced several issues and
challenges which proved to be problematic for me, while I was also able to effectively conduct
several operations in a productive manner. Though I was hesitant and nervous at first, I found
that the researching operations for the assignment were quite positive for me, as I was able to
effectively procure and gather a lot of highly relevant, valid, reliable and appropriate research
and data for the purposes of the project by consulting various research publications, journals in
addition to various online sources through the use of ICT devices. I was also able to quite
effectively process all my gathered research and analyse it in order to come to relevant and valid
conclusions for the purposes of the assignment. On the other hand, I found the writing part of the
past assignment to present several issues and challenges to me on account of my unfamiliarity
with the English language. I also faced challenges related to effectively managing my limited
time resource, as I was barely able to finish the assignment within the restricted deadline, leaving
myself no additional time to make necessary revisions, which could have improved the overall
quality of my prior assignment.
I feel that I was able to gather all the required data and research without facing any issues
or challenges due to my effective and adequate researching skills. I also think that my analytical
and problem solving skills are also sufficiently developed and adequate, as I was effectively able
to process and analyse all the gathered data and research towards coming to reliable and relevant
conclusions. I also feel that my familiarity with the ICT devices was instrumental in me being
able to effectively gather research from the digital sources. On the other hand, I feel that my
communication skills particularly relating to English needs to be improved, as faced various
challenges relating to the writing part of the assignment (Middleton, 2017). I also feel that I need
to further develop my time management skills as well, as another challenge I faced while
completing the prior project related to mismanaging my limited time, which didn’t allow for me
to leave any additional time for making revisions to improve the overall quality of the project.
Improving my inadequate and underdeveloped time management and communication
skills in English would allow for me to be able to complete all my future assignments in a better
manner, which would result in my personal and professional growth. Addressing my
underdeveloped communication skills would allow for me to become more familiar with the
English language and vocabulary which would expand my linguistic horizons and result in my

personal and professional development, allowing for me to better articulate my ideas and
opinions to others (Dressler and et.al., 2018). Addressing my underdeveloped time management
skills would allow for me to make the best and most optimum use of my limited time resource,
allowing for me to complete all future assignments and tasks in a much more productive manner.
