INTRODUCTION
Workplace transformation is completed to help organizations improve businesses
processes, activities and functions on an organization wide level so that desired business
outcome is gained. This can be for variety of reasons such as responding to changing external
environment, developing capabilities for organizational expansion or supporting competitive
development of the company. Commonly attainment of competitive advantage is the reason for
implementing costly and time consuming concepts such as workplace transformation. It helps the
company focus on quality, consumer experience and provide better results to all stakeholders.
The management administration of a company is a key figure in successfully completing
workplace transformation (Fenech, Baguant and Ivanov, 2019).
The present investigation is based on the United Kingdom based company Morison’s
which is a key player in the UK retail sector. Morison’s is present in 497 stores in United
Kingdom with 1,10,000 employees. In addition to this the company has complex supply chain
which expands internationally to delivery wide variety of products to their consumers in United
Kingdom. The large scale and wide product variety of the company along with huge workforce
makes the concept of handling workplace transformation extremely complicated and
challenging. The management of Morison’s faced an enormous task as failure in workplace
transformation can negatively affect the future of the company.
The present investigation looks at the role and actions of management at Morison’s in
ensuring effective workplace challenges and helping the company attain long-term competitive
advantage as a result of the successful workplace transformation. The challenges faced by the
managerial department of Morison’s are evaluated in this investigation. In addition to this the
strategies implemented by the respective organization and its positive and negative impact on
workplace transformation is determined through the investigation. In this way the managerial
capabilities of Morrison’s in effectively accomplishing organization wide change and smoothly
performing workplace transformation. Finally the positive impact of workplace transformation is
also determined through this investigation.

organizations and ensure better change management in such firms weather it is at small level or
