supermarket in UK having its headquarter at England. Report will aim to identify the different
issues with respect to the equality and diversity at the workplace and different measures that
business can take in order to measure the same. Report will also conduct small scale research and
data collection in order to support the project aim. Report will further include appropriate
recommendations on bases of the given data
TASK 1

Overview of the project: - Project is based on equality and diversity at the workplace as it is
essential for a business to implement the same in order to make the employees work effectively
with their potential skills and knowledge that they have. In a diverse working environment it
helps the employees to be competent and they also become capable to adapt the change(Bresler
and Stake, 2017). Present research will help the Morrisons to identify different issues and its
measures that could help the business to implement equality and diversity at the workplace(Bell,
Bryman and Harley, 2018)
Aim of the Project: - The aim of the project is to identify different issues that may arise out of
equality and diversity in the workplace and different measures that could be taken to resolve
them? A study on Morrisons.
Objective of the project: - The respective objectives of the present project that are in need to
achieved are:-
To understand the way equality and diversity will help the firm to have an effective

Cost
In order to implement different
measures for brining equality and
diversity at the workplace, the

of HRM and also for research and
development(Bryman, 2017).
The cost that researcher will bear is
about £58000 in order to appoint a

work effectively at Morrison by
enhancing their right skills(Crane and

Time
To adopt the respective changes it
will take about 45 days by Morrison
in order to bring equality and
diversity at the organisational culture
and also in their procedure.
To perform the respective research, it
will take about 2 months by the
researcher and for completing these
all tasks on time, researcher will break
down their overall research based
activies with the help of Gantt chart
and also with work breakdown
structure((Jahagirdar and et. al., 2015)
Quality
With the help of this research, it will
bring quality of working employees
at Morrisons that will be having
effective skills and knowledge in
hand(Guerra-Santin, and Tweed,
2015). This also helps the business to
have quality of business performance
by treating the employees in a right
way.
The present study is based on both
qualitative research that helped the
researcher to collect data with the help
of unstructured interviews and open
questions. The respondents talked in
depth about equality and diversity at
Morrisons.
Communication
The respective changes that business
is interested to implement is
communicated to all the respective
employees during the meetings as
well as with the help of emails. They
were also communicated with the
help of different training
sessions(Fletcher, 2017).

Risk
While implementing the measures,
risk arise for business with respect to
the extra cost and time if the
strategies do not work effectively in
improving the organisational work
culture.
There is risk for the researcher that
the selected sample is not up to the
mark as they did not answer the
questions accurately and that affects
the information that they have
gathered as chances of inaccuracy
rises (Noble and Smith, 2015).
Resources
There are different resources that
play an important part for
implementing equality and diversity
at the workplace. These resources are
funds, human resources, time and
also the use of an effective
technology(Mohammad and et. al.,
2016).
For the researcher the important
resources are funds, time and
technology that they have to use in
order to gather the right information
so that they can analyse the data
accurately.
P3 : Work break down structure and Gantt
Work break down structure:-
WBS is useful for the research as this tool helps project to divide it in some smaller
components in order to perform these managerial tasks in an effective manner. This helps the
researcher to make the things simple to understand and executable. It helps the researcher to
identify the basic points that are in need to be controlled. This finally helps in preparing an
effective structure that can be breakdown into different sub activities, as it helps the researcher to
manage them and complete them on time(Palinkas and et. al., 2015).

Gantt chart:-
It is a tool that helps the researcher to distribute its respective activities into a specified
time and there are different horizontal lines that are presented on the chart, representing the
amount of work that is needed to be completed. This also tracks the activities that they are
completed in the given period or not. This is basically used for scheduling with the help of
Microsoft excel and it is been prepared to sequence the activities(Papke-Shields, K.E. and Boyer-
Wright, K.M., 2017).

TASK 2
P4:- Small-scale research in meeting aims and obejctives
Research methodology:-
Research approach: - It is a procedure having different steps of data collection, analysis and
interpretation. There are basically two types of research approach that is inductive and deductive
approach. In deductive approach hypothesis is been used and it is generally emphasise on
causality. On the other hand, in inductive approach aim and objectives are been defined that are
in need to be achieved at the end of the research project. In the present study, researchers will use
inductive approach where aims and objectives with respect to equality and diversity at the
workplace will be defined(Pieterse, 2019).
Research method: - It is the strategies that are adopted by the researcher in order to collect the
data so that it can be analysed in order to achieve the project aim. There are two types of research
methods Qualitative and Quantitative research method. Qualitative research is used to understand
some concepts and it gather information with respect to in-depth insights of a specific topic with
the help of interviews, case studies etc. On the other hand, Quantitative research is generally
based on number and graphs. It is based on assumptions and includes surveys and experimental
research. For the present study, researcher will use Qualitative method as interviews will be
conducted.
Research design:- It is a framework that includes different techniques that the researcher choose
to handle the research problem in an effective manner. There are two types of research design
that is Descriptive and Correlational. Descriptive research involves observing behaviour where
different attributes are been described. On the other hand in Correlational design, researcher
usually measures the relationship between the different variables and do not make any control on
these variables. For the present study, researcher have used descriptive research design where the
behaviour and opinion of the working employees were noticed and analysed with the help of
questionnaires.
Data collection:- It is a process of collecting, measuring and then analysing the deep insights of
the research. There are two methods to collect data that is Primary and secondary ways of data
collection. Primary data is collected through first hand research that is with the help of surveys,
observation or group discussions(Wren, 2015).

. On the other side, secondary data is collected with the help of internet, articles or from report of
the organisation. For the present study researcher will collect primary data.
Sampling:- It is a process that includes selection of few people out of the entire population so
that they can be observed and their behaviour with respect to the situation can be analysed. There
are two types of sampling methods that are probability and non-probability sampling methods.
Probability sampling includes random selection of sample out of the population in order to have
statistical inference. On the other side, non-probability sampling involves non-random selection
that is based on convenience of the researcher so that they can easily collect initial data. For the
present project, Researcher will use probability sampling where randomly 20 samples of the
employees working at Morrisons were selected and interviewed.
Data analysis:- It is the way of applying logical techniques in order to describe and evaluate the
data. There are two methods to analyse the data that is descriptive and predictive. In descriptive
data analysis different issues that the organisation faces are addressed and on the other hand in
predictive data analysis the things that may happen in future are generally predicted. For the
present report, researcher will use descriptive data analysis in order to identify the issues that
business face due to equality and diversity at the workplace.
Ethical consideration:- While conducting the research it is very important for the researcher to
work ethically and respect the dignity of the research participants. The ethical consideration that
are in need to be focused is to respect the anonymity and privacy of the participants and do not
make any harm to any one while conducting the research. During the project, the researcher
asked permission of the senior manager in order to take interview of its employees so that they
feel protected with respect to privacy of organisation(Siami-Irdemoosa, Dindarloo and
Sharifzadeh, 2015).
