INTRODUCTION
Management style refers to the methods used by an individual in terms of managing an
organisation or group of people.It basically refers to the manner in which managers exercise their
authority in the workplace and also ensure that their objectives are achieved. In the present
report, Morrisons is taken into consideration. Morrisons is basically the fourth largest
supermarket chain in the United Kingdom which is headuartered in Bradford, West Yorkshire,
England(Raza and et.al., 2021). The present report will cover discussion about effectiveness of
leadership style of CEO with support of theoritical model and also about current culture and
structure of the organisation. In addition to this, the present report will cover analysis about
corporate governance policies and entrepreneurial strategy followed by the CEO and also about
effects of power, influence and conflict resolution at the particular company by CEO in.
Moreover, the report will cover discussion about types of motivation strateies used at the chosen
chosen company.

The effectiveness of leadership or managerial style of the CEO of Morrisons with the
help of theoretical models are explained into the following manner:
As David Potts is a very hard working and enthusiastic person towards his career. His never give
up attitude towards his career and his continuous efforts made him successful in terms of
becoming CEO of Morrisons. According this experience he worked around thirty nine years in
the TESCO company and after that he became the CEO of Morrisons. With support of his team
members and the kind of leadership style which he has adopted where he continuously motivate
their team members towards their work(Žukauskas and et.al., 2018).Morrisons has achieved this
success through tech-innovation in analytics of e-commerce due to which they can perform into
out of box manner. According to his experience and his innovation step into the e-commerce
industry made him successful in terms of following authoritative leadership style. His thoughtful
and speedy leadership style made him successful at a very large scale. Up to a certain extent he

follows the democratic style of leadership as well because the innovation factor can’t be
successful with support of his technical team so this kind of particular step towards his team also
made company to achieve success into positive manner. According to different theoretical
models there are four main models which include great man, trait model, behavioral and
transactional model. In terms of effectiveness of leadership style of Morrisons, the CEO mainly
follows behavioral and trait model (Filimonov and et.al., 2016). David has achieved this major
success through its innovative nature and according to his behavior in different environments for
tacking different situations help him to grow into the positive context. The trait model also
majorly talks about natural qualities that David has due to which he can stand competitively into
the market whether it is in the TESCO company or about the Morrison’s company. Due to this
kind of managerial or leadership style David has somewhere followed the theoretical models into
successful manner due to which he can build a very strong brand image into the market with his
best decisions. In this manner, managerial style or leadership style supports Morrisons for
achieving best results in their favour.

The current culture of Morrison’s of such kind where they are majorly focusing on

‘farm to fork’. Their major values are concerned with certain factors like health, safety, quality
and responsibility. There are certain priorities of the organization which includes serving
customers into better manner, local integration and serving the community, speed up and
simplify the organization. Morrisons majorly focused on serving the customers into better
manner and within the team, managers help each other and also support their team members for
positive way of working(Franco and Matos., 2015).They also believe in this context that it is
important to listen their customers into appropriate manner and their colleagues as well so that
problems can be resolved into the positive context. Morrisons also provide this kind of culture
where employees are trusted to make their own decisions and also encouraged towards

talent and also brings immense energy towards his new role. His group efforts, innovative style
and focus towards leadership leads him towards the road of success by making improvement into

success into larger scale. In this manner, his continuous track on the market plays a significant
role in terms of achieving higher level of performance which has impacted the organization into

concept and they continuously learn, innovate and apply improvements across the

performance feedback theory can be applied where it can observed that in which manner
Morrison respond towards the feedback and what steps they have taken to improve their overall
performance at organizational level. Their strategy is also that to keep the prices low so that they
can ensure that prices remain competitive into the market. They have also taken step towards
offering more freshly prepared food than any other retailer and it can be achieved through
vertical integration. In terms of service context they have focused on ensuring that right product
is always available and the system of right selling and services to their customers. These are the
