INTRODUCTION
Morrison is the fourth largest chain of supermarkets in United Kingdom headquartered in
Bradford. It was founded in 1899 by William. Morrison store is locations were primarily focused
in north England but with takeover if Safeway its presence also increased significantly in the
south England. Morrison's market share in June 2015 was 11% down 0.35 from 2014. in June
2014, Morrison's announced that it had trial led the new structure and believed that better
performance was achieved via management structures. In February 2015 Morrison's named
Tesco director David Potts as its new chief executive. In June 2015, Morrison's cut the price of
200 everyday items by up to 33%. The store chain's sales had fallen by 2.9% in the first 3 months
of 2015. In September 2015, Morrison's announced the sale of its 140 M local stores to Mike
Greene and Greybull capital, to be re-branded My local stores foe euro 25 million. The
traditional format of Morrison's superstores is called market street. The company operates a
number of stores called Morrison's M local in major places such as Birmingham, Manchester
Cardiff and Bristol (Pashayan and et 2016).
Human capital play vital role in every organization. In retail company it is important to
make long term relation with employees so they can make effective interaction with their
customers (Aaker and Joachimsthaler, 2012). The leading people in the company assist to firm to
ensure the long term growth and make effective decision in the company. The present report
make analysis on the Morrison and its HR practices along with the leading people. It also
includes the various types of ethical consideration which effects selection process. In addition,
this report make analysis on the different types of legal and ethical consider which are requires
for the making the interview for effective (Bryson, James and Keep, 2013) Along with this it
makes analysis on skills which are required for effective leadership and make differentiate in
between leadership and management. Furthermore, this report make analysis on the different
types' leadership theories which used by leaders of company in different types of situations.

1.1 Documentation for the recruiting new employees
For recruiting the new employees in the Morrison Plc, the HR of company recruiting the
new staff in the office for maintain the stores activities which are under the Morrison. In order to

helps to them for maintaining their stores and helps to them for increases their sales. Entity have
more than 498 super stores in Entire UK (Bunt, Galanter and El-Guebaly, 2014). For maintaining

1.2 The impact of legal, regulatory and ethical considerations to the recruitment and selection
process
Recruiting the right people is the key to success of many organization. These
organizations ensure that the processes involved in recruitment are legal. There are some act and
regulation defined by UK government which should be followed by Morrison in recruiting
employees which are:
Equality Act 2010: The act was made by the govt for protecting the rights of the employees.
Provisions are given in this act that no discrimination can be made on the grounds of sex,
religion, age, and culture (Bryson, James and Keep, 2013).
Data protection Act 1998:- Guidelines are given in this act for protecting the personnel data of
persons. So Morrison's can kept the data and information of its employees secure.
Halo effect : In halo effect biasing is provide for a particular candidate. Management should

In Morrison working as the general manager I take active participation in the selection
process (Chaneta, 2014) For making the section process more effective I used different types of

The first step which I take in the selection process is short listing the candidates. In the
first step I make short listening the candidates on the basis of their qualification and skills which
are hold by them. I make complete analysis on the applicants profile which helps to gain
complete knowledge regrading to the candidates.

selection process more effective I take IQ test of candidates. Through this test I become able to
know regrading to the general awareness of candidates.
Conduct interviews
The Last step which I take to conduct selection process is to take interview of candidates.
After making IQ test, I take participation for conducting interviews of candidates. In the face to
face interview of applicants I gather all required information of applicants along with their
cultural and educational background. Through this process I become able to know more
regrading to applicants and check whether they are fits for the job or not.
1.4 Evaluation of own contribution in selection process
For making the interview more effective I take part in selection process which helps
Morrison for hiring the 10 staff members in the company. In order to making the interview for
effective I use different types of techniques through which I can assess complete knowledge
regrading to the candidates and their performances.

By using the different types of selection process HR of the company get wider choices of
candidates. In order to make interview more effective I used different types of methods gives
company a wider choice and number of skilled candidates. Through the E recruiting I also get
more knowledgeable applicants which aid value in organization's services.

The E recruiting process helps to organization and HR to gather more customers in their
business. In this process I used different types of approaches which helps to HR to make their
interview more effective. Through this process I able to gather more talented applicants for the

Planning
Proper planing is require to perform a task in successful manner .Leader role is to plan all the
necessary task that need to be completed . On the basis of task duties are allocated according to
the skills of employee.
Organize
Managing and dealing with the team and people is a in important task for the leader. A great
leader should always build relationship with team by communication and try to know
individuals. The stronger relationship will make the leadership more effective. Leader are
recruited to solve and analyze the problems of the organization. So leader should have strong
analytical skills to manage team and people effectively.
Control
Role of leader is to control and monitor performance of employee. Leaders monitors
performance of each employee to find out weak performing areas. It helps for involving efforts
of all the followers towards achieving the set targets and goals.

what they want to achieve. Through this motivation and encouragement leader can make its team

appreciate the staff for their accomplishments. This simply involves saying thank you to people
by leaving message or by making some positive comment on employee's work. This will make

organization. To solve this conflict company discussed with the HR, and then HR department
make the decision to transfer her to another department. An organization should know hoe to
deal with conflicts that arises by conducting proper surveys and asking questions, analyzing the
expectations of the employees, by getting employees thoughts about the company and the
management, identifying mistakes etc. Morrison should focus in preventing escalation, taking
action to control the situations, proper measures to de- escalate the conflicts. Management and
