Introduction
Employee motivation is a vital part of every organisation as it will improve the productivity
of staff that will help in achieving the business goal. It is the main objective for every
organisation and business plan. Motivation helps in retaining the employees and improves the
performance of business by developing programs. Motivation can be achieved if employees
are rewarded for their performance ad appreciated for their good work. This could be done by
making the employees feel that they are good at their jobs and it is the duty of managers to
resolve all the queries face d by them by offering feedback to them. This includes
constructive criticism that is needed to address the issues and help employees perform their
jobs more effectively. Managers conduct formal reviews about the on-going strategies
regularly, and provide employees feedback regularly so that they can improve. In this report,
three questions related to motivation are answered.
Answer to question 1
Employees need to be motivated so that they could enhance their performance. Some of the
ways through which it can be done is by offering them regular feedbacks, involving
employees at time of decision making, celebrating company’s success and by being flexible
towards them (Malik, Butt & Choi, 2015).
Some other ways through which employees can be motivated are:
By setting small goals can help employees to achieve their targets and they should be
rewards by some incentives so that overall performance improves.
Being transparent also motivates employees, as they feel that they are an important
asset for an organisation (Zameer, Ali, Nisar & Amir, 2014).

Keeping an open door policy in an organisation creates the positive environment at
the workplace. It allows employees to raise their voce against any matter and offer
suggestion or idea at any point of time (Khan, Mughal & Khattak, 2017).
Offering employees a wider vision for future will help them find a reason to stay in an
organisation for a long time period (Zameer, Ali, Nisar & Amir, 2014). This will
improve the overall turnover rate of an organisation.
Creating a friendly and positive work environment help the employees to remain
motivated towards their work. This could be done by acknowledging the job and
keeping positive communication (Khan, Mughal & Khattak, 2017). Encourage
employees to participate in competitive or challenging environment enhances their
productivity (Jiang, Gao & Yang, 2018).
Promoting the employees to higher designation or showcasing the path which would
be followed by them in future will boost up their productivity.
Training the employees will also boost up their motivation and will offer them a clear
development path (Jiang, Gao & Yang, 2018).
Answer to question 2
I had worked with an organisation for last one year; I observed that my manager has been a
support system for me to grow. He always supported me and appreciated me for my
performance that helped me to work more. Additionally, he showcased me the diversified
field in which I can grow in an organisation. There were regular meetings and feedback that
help me to improve my overall performance. Offering on-going feedback helped me to
improve my performance (Lazauskaite-Zabielske, Urbanaviciute & Bagdziuniene, 2015).
Apart from that, I was allowed to participate in decision making process. The success of

organisation was celebrated regularly that was gesture to appreciate an individual, team or an
organisation (Qureshi & Syed, 2014).
Apart from that, while new employees work in organisation supervisors should take care of
their training in which they should be guided thoroughly. The future goals should be
showcased to them and a path of vision should be shown to them. The employees already
working and be used to set an example for their performance (Hitka & Balážová, 2015).
Apart from that, supervisors should make sure that their queries and conflicts are resolved
regularly so that they get a positive environment to work in. Managers should explain
employees about an incentive plan so that they work with a motive to improve their
productivity (Lazauskaite-Zabielske, Urbanaviciute & Bagdziuniene, 2015). In addition,
helping them understand the purpose of the business will help an employee to understand
how they fit into the big picture.
Answer to question 3
While working in groups I will make sure that small goals are set for every individual, this
will help in achieving the target or completing the work in shorter span of time (Shahzadi,
Javed, Pirzada, Nasreen & Khanam, 2014). While working in group, the doors should remain
open for all the employees so that they can share their ideas about new event. While working
in groups they can be motivated by offering them incentives and rewards if some
achievement has been made. It is seen that creating positive and friendly environment while
working will enhance productivity and will promote employees to boost up their productivity
(Sarmad, Ajmal, Shamim, Saleh & Malik, 2016). Thus, while working in a group, feedback
should be taken from every member so that the progress could be tracked easily. The
employees performing well should be appreciated for their work and they should be given
feedback regularly. It is found that motivated employees lead to improved productivity and
allow an organisation to achieve higher levels of output.

Conclusion
It can be concluded that motivation is an important factor for employee in an organisation. In
this report, the suggestions that might be added for motivating the employees are listed.
Some of the ways through which employees can be motivated is by offering them regular
feedbacks, involving employees at time of decision making, celebrating company’s success
and by being flexible towards them. In the second part, the situation is answered about if I
had been working as an employee in an organisation than what my managers should do to
keep me motivated or the actions that an supervisor should take so that employee remain
motivated.
