This research project investigates the significance of employee motivation in retaining staff within the hospitality industry, using Holiday Inn as a case study. The introduction highlights the competitive landscape of the retail sector and emphasizes the crucial role of employees in a business's success and profitability. The project aims to explore the concept of employee motivation, identify various motivation techniques, assess their impact on retention, and recommend strategies for enhancement. The methodology includes qualitative techniques, employing interviews and surveys for primary data collection, and utilizing books, journals, and online articles for secondary data. The research also reviews existing literature on employee motivation, different motivation techniques, and their significance in retaining employees, with discussions on both monetary and non-monetary rewards, employee engagement, and training programs. The project also provides a research plan outlining the activities and timeline, including background research, critical review development, data collection, and analysis. The research uses a research philosophy of interpretivism and an inductive approach, with random sampling of 10 managers from Holiday Inn.
