Literature Review
To discover the motivational factors that influences the employee’s performance
In oppose to this, Saunila et al. (2014) stated that the motivation factor can influence the
performance of the employee. There are two kinds of motivational factors that can affect the
performance of organization and employee such as intrinsic and extrinsic factor. It can also
be explained that intrinsic motivation is determined as an intangible factor. For illustration,
an individual who writes music for their own listening desire is depending on intrinsic
inspiration. At the same time, it is also amplified that an individual who writes music for the
purpose of profit-making can be extrinsic motivation. It is also stated that some elements are
considered as an intrinsic motivation such as responsibility, accomplishment, knowledge, and
recognition. In the current business situation, an organization can sue many forms of extrinsic
inspiration such as consequence and punishment, financial records, peer pressure, and praise
recognition. It is also addressed that both intrinsic and extrinsic factor direct impact on the
performance of the organization, therefore, the organization has a need to consider such
factors for enhancing the financial performance.
To understand how motivational factors are employed at the workplace
As per the view of Katzenbach et al. (2015), each member of an organization has different set
of factors that inspires them for work. An organization should need to identify the factors that
can motivate the employees. It is also stated that money is important factor that can easily
influence the employees. An organization should use financial rewards system to inspire the
employee in less time and retain them for long period. A large number of people have work
for fulfil the needs of their family member such as food, clothing, housing, and entertainment.
Beside this, some individual are working for extra payment, hence an organization can fulfil
their needs by using financial reward system.

RESEARCH METHODS PROPOSAL
In oppose to this, Farooqui and Nagendra (2014) examined that personal satisfaction can also
be imperative for an organization. Through this, an organization can motivate a large number
of employees towards their work. It is also analysed that people who have satisfied by their
job perform better as compared to other. It is also illustrated that an organization can develop
the passion among employee towards their goal and satisfies them individually due to
improving the performance of organization successfully.
To evaluate the relationship between motivational factor and organizational
performance
In support of this, Tahir et al. (2014) explained that there is a positive relationship between
motivation and organization performance. A motivated employee performs better in the
workplace that can be effective improve the productivity of the organization. It is also stated
that the inspired employee can work as a requirement of an organization along with inspiring
the other to perform better and meet the organizational task in a systematic manner. It is also
examined inspired employee have some additional characteristics such as job satisfaction,
teamwork, achievement, and respect. It can be a positive impact on the performance of a
company.
To recommend the strategies to improve the employees performance at the workplace
According to the Saunila et al. (2014) examined that an organization should use many
strategies to improve the performance of employee systematically. An organization can use
the communication technique to solve the issue of employees and satisfy them in an
appropriate manner. It is also stated that communication error can directly decline the
employee satisfaction level. As a result, employee cannot be able to accomplish the specified
task in an appropriate manner. Hence, organization can use the effective communication tool
and improve the performance of organization successfully.

It is also illustrated that the training and development method can also be effective to
improve the professional skills of employee. It can positive impact on the job efficiency of
employee. An organization can also use training and development method to sharp the
employee skills and improve their performance. It can inspire the employee by demonstrating
that they are important asset for the organization.
In support to this, Mustafa et al. 2016 stated that praise and reward can also be imperative for
improving the performance of employee. Organization cannot assume anything towards the
performance of employee they can critically analysis the performance of workforce.
Consequently, it can enable the organization to address the employees who perform better at
the workplace and positively motivate them by offering reward to them.
Research Methodology
Introduction
The research methodology can be effective to identify the appropriate techniques for
completing the research objectives. There are different types of research methods that will
include by researchers like research philosophies, research design, data collection method,
research approach, and research limitation. It will help the researcher to get the appropriate
info regarding the research issues (Gerhart and Fang, 2014).
Research Philosophy
In this research, the researcher will imply the interpretivism philosophy because research is
subjective in nature. This research philosophy is based on the idealism, which helps to get the
valid and reliable data. A researcher will use interpretivism philosophy to collect the
theoretical data about the research to meet the research objectives systematically (Mostafa, et
al., 2014).

RESEARCH METHODS PROPOSAL
Research Approach
For this research, a researcher will use an inductive approach to gather the appropriate
information regarding the research dilemma. The inductive approach is more appropriate than
the deductive approach because the research is subjective in nature. Through this, the
researcher will enable to get the views and opinion of respondents regarding the research
issue (Hameed, et al., 2014).
Research Strategy
The research will also play an imperative role in attaining the research objectives in the
limited time and cost. For this research, a researcher will execute the literature review and
survey through a questionnaire to accomplish the research aim and objectives. Through the
survey research strategy, a researcher will capable to collect the information to the
respondents about the organization performance. In addition, the literature review will also
effective for this researcher due to collecting the appropriate theoretical information
regarding the impact of motivation on organization performance. It will support to improve
the reliability and validity of research result (Kallio, et al., 2014).
Research design
In this research, the researcher will utilize mixed data collection methods like quantitative
and qualitative research design. The qualitative research will use by the researcher to collect
the theoretical data regarding the research issue. In oppose to this, quantitative research
design is implied by the researcher to collect the numeric data by using the statistical data
(Taylor, et al., 2015).
Data Collection Method
The data collection method can also be imperative to collect the information regarding the
organization performance. A researcher will use both data collection methods such as
primary and secondary data collection method. A researcher will execute the primary data

collection method by using many sources such as interview, observations, and survey through
a questionnaire. It will be appropriate to get the reliable and valid outcome. In oppose to this,
the secondary data collection method is also effective for gathering the theoretical data and
gain the conceptual understanding of the impact of motivation on the organization
performance (Brinkmann, 2014). In addition, there are many sources that will consider by a
researcher to collect data such as books, government publications, journal articles, and online
sources.
Sampling Procedure
For this research, a researcher has implied the probability sampling method as compared to
the non-probability sampling method. For this research, the researcher will imply the
probability sampling method with random sampling because of selecting the respondents to
perform the survey through a questionnaire. For this, the researcher will select 45 managers
of Sainsbury's, ASDA, and Morrison's retail organization, UK to perform the task-appropriate
manner. The probability sampling method will support to collect the adequate information
and obtain the reliable result (Flick, 2015).
Research limitation
The research limitation can be imperative for the researcher to meet the objectives of the
research. A researcher will focus on many factors such as lack of resources, limited cost, and
time to meet the research objectives. The estimated time and cost can negatively influence the
completion of research. It forced the researcher to complete the research in less time and cost
that can be a major issue in the research study. Moreover, the researcher will also face a
problem of the lack of resource during the completion of research systematically.
A researcher will direct communication with the participants by using many methods such as
email, questionnaire method. It will also help to collect the valid and reliable outcome.
Furthermore, it will permit the researcher to make a repo with the participants. A researcher
