Background
Staff retention is an important aspect for the growth of organization. It helps in creating a
positive working environment and reduces employee replacement cost for the organization. In
order to maintain the staff retention, it is important for entity to satisfy its employees to boost
their morale (Basford, Tessa and Lynn Offermann, 2012). The productivity of organization also
gets increased when employees are satisfied as they become dedicated towards the work.
Rationale of the Research
Present research holds a great importance for the managers as it will help in assessing the
motivation level of employees and its impact on their decision of switching job. The purpose of
this study is to understand various factors related to motivation which can help in assessing the
motivational factors that prove to be the best for employees in organization (Lazaroiu and
George, 2015). The researcher does not have adequate knowledge regarding importance of staff
retention in company which can be judged through this research project.

Research Methodology
Both secondary and primary sources will be used to collect data for the present research
study. The data will be collected from 50 employees of Marks and Spencer. Close ended
questionnaire method will be used to gather the data. Qualitative method of data analysis
technique will be used to analyse the information through thematic analysis. It will help in
reaching to reliable data collection and authentic results.
