In business organisation it is important to serve and promote the positive working
environment with maintaining the general rules an obligation s through which the motivation can
be raised in the workforce. Theory of motivation is generally the force which is being used in
order to push the employees to work enthusiastically and to generate the implemented human
behaviour. In order to make the organisation top to be successful generation of positive conducts
and the ensuring of the positive outcomes are to be needed and this can only be made with the
help of motivation which is being given to the employees. There are different kinds of
motivational theories they are like Hertzbergs theory, Maslow theory, Vroom theory etc. are
some of the example of motivational theories (Gómez-Barrón and et. al., 2019). The organisation
chosen in this essay is Tesco this is a well known retail industry which deals with all the
household appliances, groceries etc. this essay will cover the Maslow theory with application to
modern workplace.

Theories of motivation
Motivation is the most important element in all the personal and professional life. It helps
out to make the employees or the individuals to push their limits and also to work according to
the general working and the functions. The basic need for motivation is to evaluate and make the
principles of working with the company in an exaggerated manner and also to implicate the
methods through which employees will help to reach the goals of the company (Park, and et. al.,
2019). There are some important theories of motivation which can be used by the company in
order to make their performance better like,
Hertzberg theory of motivation is a two factor theory
which considers the important areas and the elements in which the motivating and the hygiene
factors are considered, as motivating factor use to contemplate all the motivators which are
present in the company and helps in working harder so as to make the advancement and the
growth. Whereas, the hygiene factors are concerned with personal well being if the employee in
the workplace as this is the main reason in which the employees can leave the work.
Another one is,
Vroom motivational theory this theory suggests about the belief of
employees on instrumentality, expectancy and all the psychologically interaction in valence. This

Security and safety needs is the second important need in this hierarchy as this concerns
with all the security and the safety thorough which the primary concerns are being carried and
this also contributes in the behaviour and the general working level., this contains the health,
wellness, financial security, injury and accidents all should be protected. As in Tesco all the
employees which are working in the company always want to b[get the financial security with
the general help and taking care of all the expenses and the health. As this motivates them
towards making and connecting with the company and also implicate to create a positive
approach in it.
The third in the pyramid is the
social need, as it includes the belonging, love, acceptance.
This means that in this all the emotional relationships are concerned in order to frame the
attachment like friendships, family, community groups, religious areas all are considered in it.
