When riding a roller coaster, every one of us goes through two emotions, irrespective of
the fact whether one likes it or not. Sometimes it’s exciting and fun, whereas other time one can
be scared to the point that we don’t want to continue at all; nevertheless, we always make it till
the end and so is the case with life. We make it through the thick and thin; we make it through
failings and the fallings.
“Being me is not easy”, often people think this statement is only valid for people who
have been successful in their life or people who have accomplished something great, but it
cannot be farther from the truth. In fact, in contradiction, the opposite is true in this case. In
reality, the truth is bitterer than we can accept. Every single person available in the room has a
story of their own; the story of their struggle and no two circumstances can be deemed harder
than the other. It’s those very struggle and the way they overcome those are what shapes them
into the person they are today.
Behind every successful individual, there is a story of struggle, a story of hardship which
makes them the person they are, behind every kind and optimistic person there lies a story of
struggle which they had to overcome on their own and even in case of negative and bitter
individual there is a reason for why they are the way they are. This is what brings us back to the
phrase: “Being me is not easy” and the reason why I accept the fact that every single one of
inside this room has the right to say it. Because they made it till here, they made it out of their
struggle.
I, for one, am here to share my thoughts, and, likely, many of you might not agree with
me. But, that is alright, for I understand that every single one of us has a different perspective
towards life.

There is always a point in our life where we tend to think that instead of putting in hard
work, we can choose to opt for an easier option which might not be ethically and morally right
all the time. We can incline to the thought process that we being the owners of our life can take
the easier way out. When we go through hard times, we prefer to see the light at the end of the
road to a great future. The presence of a dream where we put in all our passion because we know
at the end it will all be worth it. This, for me, in my belief, is the answer to the previous question.
We are all at the beginning of the race, and we will run and going to experience falling in
our attempts, but we will stand up and continue running. The cycle will keep repeating itself until
we make it to the finish line. And then we’ll be able to hold our heads up high and proudly say:
“Being me is not easy.”
With this, we can conclude the previous question:
The answer lies in the PASSION for moving forward as there’s always a little voice in us
that reminds us all hurdles will be worth the result. Our determination to achieve and overcome
the barriers is what passion is all about; all of our sweat and blood and the exhaustion of all those
sleepless nights, all the sweet moments that we have to leave behind and miss it to reach our
goals. Allah has said in Surat al Baqara (
ان الله مع الصابرين); so as long as we are going in the
right direction, it’s all going to be worth it. Everyone has a great future ahead of them, and the
key to this future is navigating through the right path no matter the hardship.
It was nice seeing and talking all of you, and I hope that my speech will change
someone’s life for better. And I appreciate you all for hearing me out, and with this, I take your
leave.
