BEING A DENTAL OR MEDICAL PRACTITIONER 2
Why I Want To Be a Medical or Dental Practitioner.
I want to be a dental practitioner in order to restore the oral health and transform the lives of
my patients. Apart from being able to satisfy my patients, I also want to be independent with
my own career, whereby, I can start my own business to treat people. The net income of an
independent medical or dental practitioner is $190,000 which is actually a good salary. This
motivates me to join medical school. I also need to maintain a flexible lifestyle whereby I can
balance work and other life activities. With the flexible work schedules and the net income, I
am able to offer medical and dentistry services to those who lack access to the medical
facilities and those who cannot afford the price of seeing a dentist or a medical practitioner
otherwise known as benevolent care. Besides, being a medical practitioner will enable me to
be respected by the members of the community because I contribute to the general health of
the public. Dentistry requires a proper mastery of skills since it fundamentally involves
refining patient’s dental healthiness. Being a dentist requires exercising creativity in the daily
work. Teamwork is key in this particular area of study. It enables health practitioners to
collaborate and enhance patient outcome.
As compared to the indigenous places, where there are many accessible medical facilities
and also can be affordable to them. I understand that there are a few chronic and dental
shortages in the rural areas and that it might be costly and time consuming for those in rural,
remote areas to travel to the indigenous and tropical places in seeking medical services. I am
familiar with the remote areas and I am conscious of the hardship they go through to get
medication. I would love to go there and help them with the treatment.
In the year 2002, I graduated with a Bachelor’s of science in nursing and in the year 2008, I
graduated with a Master’s of science in biochemistry. I am expected to finish a Master’s of
science in Health in the year 2020. I also have a few working experiences like; working as an
RN in the community, mental health, surgery, emergency and nephrology in the years 2003
