Abstract
A conceptual framework for the measurement of the usability features of the cinema hall
booking application has been created. This prototype has been created, by the help of various
programming languages and tools such as Java and the Android Software Development Kit,
based on the provided guidelines and the case study of the conceptual frameworks that have been
proposed. The usability of the model that was proposed was compared to a similar mobile
application by comparing the functionalities.
Introduction
The need for a quality software application is gaining apace in the last few years. But also
simultaneously there is a broad range of rejections of software application despite spending a
great cost on their production. This is because of the non-interaction of the systems and the
failures of the software applications to fulfill the given task. A manual procedure needs a huge
amount of sources and the procedure is not going on a good pace. (Saha, et. al., 2015)
Reflection of the Interface Designs
User interface design for the application
The following were the principles that were followed in the user interface design of the
application (Barder, et. al., 2017).
Item Visibility: The application must keep the client or the user up-to-date regarding the
activities that are happening in the application, via proper feedback under a significant time.
The link between the actual world and the application: The application must have the ability
to communicate with the user in their language.
Freedom and Control to the user: In many cases, the user chooses the function of the
application unintentionally and might require an "emergency exit" that would be marked clearly
to leave the unintended state and not having to suffer any extra dialogue.
Standards and Consistency: The user mustn’t have to give a thought whether various phrases,
scenarios, or activities are all the same and this is highly focused while the creation of the
application.
Prevention of Error: A proper care taken user interface which avoids the issue of happening in
the first place.

Instead of Recall, Recognize: Reduce the memory load of the user by the creation of object,
action, and the option visible.
Efficient and Flexible in Use: The accelerator that is not noticed by any new user might several
times increase the pace in the interacting process for the users in a manner that the application
can fulfill the requirement of both the newbie and the experienced user.
Aesthetic and Minimal User Interface: The activities must not consist of the data that is not in
relevance or not much required.
Recovery from error: Error notifications must be represented in plain language without any
codes, briefly explains the issue, and properly provides a resolution.
Documentation: Even after it is considered to be a good option to use the application without
any documentation, it might be essential for providing a correct documentation
How my design meets the user’s requirements and enhances their experience.
One of the requirements of the client was that the customer must be able to see the available
services that are given in the theatre. For that, the application has made the homepage that
displays all the services that are given by the application which is made highly user-friendly
(Figure 1). Another task the user wanted the application to do is to book tickets at the last time
and lock the seats that are chosen for the customer. The application can very successfully pull
off this task as the application is created in a manner that it can provide the dynamic changes like
seat booking without any problem and the customer would be able to see their seat, The activity
that is responsible for the tickets booking is made very easily understandable for the customer as
for it, a UI is created that represents the whole seating system as per the seating system of the
particular movie hall assigned to the customer that also displays the seats that are already booked
and also the seats that are not booked. No issue in the understanding the UI is expected from the
user (Figure 4). Another one of the requirements of the client was that the customer must be able
to find their movie hall. For that, in the application, every seat has been provided a primary key
and all the seats are associated with a movie hall (Figure 3) (Joo, 2017).
What factors influenced my design, how they influenced it and why.
Several factors influenced the creation of this application and various aspects of it such as UI,
database, parsing method, etc. (Danani, et. al., 2017).
Following are some of the major factors that influenced the design of the application
Need of the client: The application was tried to be made exactly as per the requirements that
were given by the client.
Limitations: Many limitations were faced in the applications initially but such as to make the
application dynamic or to make runtime changes in the applications, but eventually all of the
goals were achieved.

Designing Principles: The application is decided based on the heuristics principle.
Business Requirements: The business requirements and the market value of the application
were also estimated before the beginning of the creation of the whole project.
Competitors: The features of the other applications were also observed closely, some of them
are also having their reflection in this application but the application is tried to be made as better
as possible.
Discussion on similar interfaces
2 major organizations gave the idea for the user interface of the application. Those organizations
were Event Cinemas (Event Cinemas, 2019) and Cineplex Australia (Cineplex Australia, 2019).

The seat selections and the ticket confirmation activities of the given application were
implemented from Event Cinemas and Cineplex. The that were seen in these applications were
that from this application the user was not able to also reserve their parking slot which was made
available in the presented application (Figure 2). The one thing in which the application was not
as effective as the other 2 was the barcode representation of the tickets.
Conclusion
The given application "Book Your Movies" is made as convenient for the user as possible. The
main aim of this application is to improve user experience in terms of watching movies. Most of
the issues that are faced by the user are addressed in this application such as, reserving the tickets
for the hall, even reserving the parking slots, notifying a staff member they are if needed.
