Several factors were considered while designing the website to ensure the platform meets
the users’ requirements and enhances their experiences. Users’ needs and preferences for the
website design were supported sufficiently providing them with an experience they could enjoy
as well as an avenue to achieve their goals easily. To enhance users experiences while
navigating through the website, elements of delight were added to user interactions. Among
these elements are shortcuts that appear on the homepage allowing the users to complete
common tasks quickly. In addition, high-quality content is included in the design, which offers
the audience high quality and credible website. Most visitors to any website are impatient and
need instant gratification on the services they seek online ( Foraker Labs , 2015). To ensure the
website meets the user expectations, highly intuitive navigation, as well as a minimum cognitive
load, is applied in the design of the website to attract and retain the attention of the visitors
visiting the platform. Also, to give users control of the browser when navigating the website,
data consistency is upheld throughout the data presentation of the site. Unexpected popups of
new windows and adverts have been avoided, and a back button is included allowing users to get
back to a webpage they have been before.
Several factors influenced the design of the website in different ways. One is the
marketing principles of an e-commerce website. The website does not take the customers
through multiple steps and forms to fill in the ticket buying process. Usually taking a consumer
through multiple hoops and form filling turns to be contentious, putting them off (Friedman,
2008). By following marketing principles, digital marketing was applied during the design of
the website, resulting in customers retaining their ticket purchases and increasing sales. Another
factor is how well the website is responsive on a mobile phone. The website is designed for
viewing easily on any device. The design is quite responsive since it includes an automatic

resizing of texts that are easy to read on screens that are small, a navigation position that can
change on the basis of how the device is held as well as minimum images to boost load times
(Web Bureau, 2016). The website had to be supported by mobile phones and tablet devices
following the new wave of online shoppers who mostly prefer shopping from mobile gadgets
instead of laptops and desktop computers.
The website borrows a few ideas from E-bay in its design. E-bay is an e-commerce
website that allows users to trade products online through an auctioneering process. The e-bay
website applies clear calls-to-actions (CTAs) on its webpages, which are a contributing factor to
the success of the platform (Partanen, 2016). CTAs appear on every webpage on the movie ticket
selling website which either guides a customer in making a purchase or gathering information.
The website also borrows from E-bay in terms of securing the customers' data and information.
Similar to E-bay, the website has valid and proper SSL certification, ensuring customers are
conducting safe transactions.
Several reasons can be attributed to the selected design of the website. E-commerce
projects are overwhelming tasks making it important to choose components, software, and digital
partners that are trustworthy and will assist in growing the business online (U.S. Department of
Health & Human Services, 2019). Software and hardware products from external vendors had to
be employed, which enhance the performance of the website, consequently resulting in
increasing the sales of the movie tickets on the platform. In addition, during the design of the
website, a usability study was also conducted. The usability study involves a series of tasks and
tests undertaken to test the usability of the website. Volunteers interact with a prototype version
of the website after which their views and experiences of using the website are collected
(Friedman, 30 Usability Issues To Be Aware Of, 2007). Their opinions are then compared to the

target goals of designing the website, and an improved version of the prototype is developed
based on the information. The studies helped designers to determine how successful users are in
achieving their goals when visiting the webpage and in creating a refined version of the website.
This movie ticket selling website is the best solution for offering online tickets for sale
since it upholds appropriate standards in its design across multiple factors. While designing it,
users ease in navigating the website was considered all through. Visitors to the website find it
easy to understand what the site provides within the first thirty seconds of accessing the website.
In addition, the website is updated with upgraded security features ensuring customer
information remains safe from data leaks and exploitation.
