Common challenges and barriers in effective communication
Implementation of Brexit has caused various challenges and barriers to communication in Mr.
Fishy company as there are staff coming from different cultures and age groups. There
perception, goals and expectations differ from each other which creates conflicts in the
restaurants. Some of the barriers faced by the Mr. Fishy are as follows:
Culture and language barrier: Due to implementation of Brexit there was tension among the
relation between non-British and British staff (Bovée, Thill and Raina, 2016). There was a
cultural difference among the employees as they try to show that their culture is superior from
other. There is also language barrier which create challenge in communication. Due to culture
difference conflicts arise and company is not able to achieve business goals.
Difference in viewpoints: There is a difference in the perception of people their attitude,
thinking, beliefs and goals they want to achieve in a particular company. Mr. Fishy also
expects from its staff to perform their best but different perception and goals create a barrier in
achieving company goal. These create difficulty in maintaining efficiency in the business and
increase profits (Brink and Costigan, 2015).

. Mr. fishy need to implement various strategies to overcome

Company need to ensure staff members that there are
collaborative tools available which are required to succeed

Mr. fishy manager need to communicate all the information
clearly to every one and there need to be open
communication in the the company where every employee
are free to put their concerns.
Company also need to enhance its workplace

application which are effective way of communication and it

making process which will lead to effective decisions. Staff
will feel valued and will work effectively and efficiently to

Strategies to overcome barriers in communication.
Mr. fishy need to aware its staff members about the
culture and its difference among the employees so that
they treat each other with respect and respect each other
culture which will lead to increase in productivity.
It is said that people of UK are polite and they
mind their own business whereas the British people like
to interact with each other and build relation thus, all the
staff members need to consider their attitude and then
communicate with each other. This will lead to better
coordination among them and decrease conflicts and
barriers of communicating with each other. Thus, it is
said that culture influence the workplace environment
and people need to be aware of the culture of employees
working in the organisation (Bovée, Thill and Raina,
2016).
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been summarised that Mr fishy restaurants who serve chips and fish are
facing a problem related to their communication and how they can effectively break the barriers of
communication are in three different stages in main body.
