Subject: Safety of MRI Procedures During Pregnancy
Date:
Dear XYZ,
I am writing this mail to present the topic of my proposal and the argument for analyzing the
safety issues that are related to MRI procedure in the time of pregnancy. MRI during
pregnancy has been argued widely and both the supporting and contrasting arguments are
present. Most of the doctors and medical researchers are on the view point that the MRI
procedure during pregnancy has no detrimental effect on either the mother or the baby (Ray
et al., 2016). There are also a good number of opinion that argue that it might harm the child
if done during the first trimester. In this regard, I believe that MRI scans during pregnancy is
actually safe.
I believe the process is safe and the main reason that people might think of the negatives are
the lack of knowledge and awareness regarding the procedure among the patients. Most
people are not educated about what the process entails and thus fear for the safety of the baby
I believe this process is safe as past history and case studies show that neither the mother nor
the child was ever harmed by doing MRI procedure during their pregnancy period. It is done
by expert medical practitioners and caution is practiced (Bulas & Egloff, 2013).
I also believe that this procedure is safe as no harmful chemical or object is used during the
procedure. The gadolinium-enhanced MRI procedure requires use of chemical but this
procedure can be avoided during pregnancy tenure.
My final proposal on this topic will be ready by ………..
Thanks and regards,
