Key Issues Illustrated in the Article
The major issue that is illustrated is relating to banning of weaponized social media
channels. The Prime Minister of Australia Scott Morrison has commented that there are
different social media companies wherein technology is exploited by the murderous terrorists.
It is one of the serious issues which can affect growth of social media companies and it will
reduce the profitability.
For instance- There has been failure of Facebook as on March 15th, white nationalist
attacked two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand and there was a live streaming video of
seventeen minutes of shooting in Facebook Live. These are the main issues which affects the
social media companies in a negative manner.
Important Stakeholders
The major and important stakeholders who are involved in the respective issue are the
employees, employers and customers. Due to the ban of the social media channels, it will be
affecting entire growth of social media companies such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
as the business revenues will fall which can create negative influence on the business. Due to
the ban of the social media weaponization, it will continue for the declining of the organic
research on the sites which affects the overall efficiency of the channels. In order to include
the government permit and the other aspects, and the companies will be held responsible for
the safety for the different products forb the customers. However, on the other hand, it will be
benefitting the different users of social media channels as their accounts will be saved and
there will be no such misutilization of the different accounts of the users in the entire
worldwide.

Implications of the Issue from Marketing Perspective
The major implication of the issue from the marketing perspective is that the different
social media channels will be affected as there will be less growth and there will be more
privacy related issues that can affect the marketing aspects in a negative manner. Moreover,
the CEOs and the other management officials can be sent to jail when they do not follow the
rules and regulations which will be affecting the overall growth of the company along with
the products which are sold by them.

There can be inclusion of the Stakeholder Mapping aspect which can be effective in
managing the operations of the social media companies successfully (Armstrong et al., 2015).
With the help of the stakeholder mapping, the social media companies can find the different
stakeholders who are loyal and are required to be informed regarding the different
government rules and regulations. The customers are the assets of the social media companies
and it will be beneficial for the overall success of gaining more effectiveness (Morgan et al.,
2019).

Impact of Issues on Stakeholders
Due to the respective issue, the different stakeholders such as the users of the website
will be affected in a wide manner as there are different users who are at no fault and they will
be affected due to the different strict government related rules and regulations. Moreover, the
different companies which deals with digital marketing and content marketing can be affected
negatively as well as they need to follow the different guidelines which will be affecting the
overall efficacy of the firm and they cannot control the different operations in a negative
manner as well. There will be both positive and negative aspects of the government rules and
regulations as well as differentiation strategy as there will be different norms and regulations
required to be followed by companies effectively to improve the scenario.
