1MULTICULTURALISM
Pluralism is considered to be the coexistence of human beings who are from different
culture, race and religion. Cultural diversity facilitates a country in many ways. Maintaining
friendly relation with neighbors of diverse religion as well as cultural background broadens
our minds to different dimensions. It gives us the opportunities to enjoy various functions and
makes our life colorful (Ccrweb.ca, 2019)
Canada is a culturally diverse country. The social as well as economic development of
Canada depends largely on the contributions of immigrants, because immigrants increases the
strengths of the labor force of Canada, which doubles the Gross Domestic Product(GDP) of
the country. Again, Canada’s advancement in science and technology is also attributable to
the migrants from Asian countries, partially (Ccrweb.ca, 2019)
I believe, Canadian government should delve deep into the matter of the contribution
of immigrants in the overall development of Canada, and amend the rules and regulations in a
way that facilitate the assimilation of the immigrants in the social environment of Canada.
According to my opinion, the citizens of Canada should remove the myths related to
the immigrants or refugees in Canada. The rate of crime have also been increased with the
increase in the number of immigrants in Canada. According to some of the natives of Canada,
immigrants get more facilities as compared to the original citizens of Canada. They believe
that in order to get aids from the Government the native poors have to wait in long queues but
the refugees or immigrants do not have to wait in long queues for receiving all the grants by
Canadian Government (Ccrweb.ca, 2019)
In order to abolish such myths the government should take a lot of initiatives. The
government should establish equality by providing equal opportunities to both the native poor
as well as to the refugees. The government should publish the evidences of the contribution
of the immigrants in the fields of science, economy and social development of Canada. In this

case the evidences could be economic journals or scientific journals published by the
government. Organizations working for the assimilation of the immigrants should also take
fruitful steps to remove all the misconception of the native Canadians regarding refugees and
educate them about the importance of a culturally diverse country. Along with this, Canadian
government should also strengthen the laws to control and reduce criminal offences in
Canada (Ccrweb.ca, 2019).
I prefer joining an NGO as an option for my career in future. In this career field, I
may face colleagues, clients and victims from different cultural background, different
religions or countries. As a human resource manager of the NGO, I have to cope with
culturally diverse workforce. I will try to know more about their culture. I will help them to
cope with my culture. I will respect their culture. I will be friendly with my peers as well as
subordinates. I will strengthen as well as flexible the rules and regulations of that
organization and try my best to maintain in the midst of diversity. I will try to understand
their emotion related to their own rituals like marriage, deaths and worshipping. For example,
if one of my colleague of different religion have to perform any rituals in order to show their
devotion to God and need to remain quiet while performing the ritual, I should not disturb
him or her during his or her prayer. Again, if I find any major difference in their style of
praying or food habits, I will accept the diversity with a broad mind. I will and impose
penalty on those who will try to bully people of other culture or religion, due to such
difference (www.trc.ca, 2019).
