1. Problem Statement
Multicultarism conflict is referred to as the different perception of the individual
because of the cultural difference. Culture have an influence in the health outcome of the
individual. It have an effect on the perception of the patient on illness, health and death. It
also influences the beliefs of the patient behind the cause of the disease (Rittle, 2015).
Cultural conflict between the patient and the healthcare staff effects the treatment of the
patient. It is caused by the communication gap and lack of respect and fairness (Blair, s2015).
Australia has culturally diverse population. People who are originally from the
Australia are observed to be healthier both in physical and mental way. High mortality rate,
frequent cases of mental illness are reported from the aboriginal population of the Australia.
They do not get the benefits of the health and safety as compared to the other population of
the Australia (Rudge, 2016). The aboriginal population of the Australia and the other
internationally migrated population do not speak the common language of the Australasia,
which causes a communication gap (Health.gov, 2019). Due to this, the physician are not able
to understand the exact issue of the. discrimination is also observed in the health care settings
(Van Keer et al., 2015). The patient is discriminated by the nurse and the other health care
staff and gets disrespected. Hence, due to the lack of proper treatment, their health starts
deteriorating and eventually leads to death.
2. Aims and Objectives
In health care and safety, several hurdles are observed due to the cultural difference
between the healthcare staff and the patient. The aim of the research proposal is to evaluate
the significance of cultural conflict in healthcare setting in providing care and safety and to
evaluate the impact. The objectives of the proposal are:

interviewed and response is noted. Result obtained after the interview will be compared with
the secondary data.
Surveys: In addition to face to face interview, surveys by using the questionnaire is also
conducted to evaluate the impact of cultural difference in health and safety among the patient
of a different cultural background.
