INTRODUCTION

various countries across the world. Nevertheless, it is the local enterprises which are facing
heat from the advent of globalization. In the given study, there would be an understanding
about the impact of the business of a multinational company, McDonald on its host nation,
Kazakhstan and how it has significantly impacted its city, region and country as a whole in a

McDonald is the most popular fast-food chain across the world since 1940. The USP of
McDonald's is providing a wide variety of fast-foods which includes the most famous
hamburgers, cheeseburgers, french-fries and various other food items. With the help of
globalization, McDonald’s has been successful in expanding its business in more than 100
countries across the world without much difficulty (Talwar, 2018).
By seeking the cue from globalization, McDonald’s finally opened its fast-food venture in
Kazakhstan in 2016. The positive impact of a multinational company is that there has been an
increase in employment opportunities which is evident in providing employment to more than
20,000 people. Besides, the availability of advanced technology the company has been
successful in providing quick delivery of fast-food and thus provides satisfaction to the
customers (Vassilenko, 2016).
Nonetheless, there are various issues which have affected the working and efficiency of the
local food chain in the host country. With is aggressive policy, the productivity and profitability
of the local food enterprises have decreased drastically. Besides this, there has been discontent
among its workers work getting fewer wages even after working for more hours. In addition to
this, all the revenue generated by the sales of the company’s product is not shared with the
government which has a significant impact on the local economy. Thus, McDonald’s has
