Work breakdown Structure and Gantt Chart
Work breakdown Structure
This is defined as structure where works and activities can be deliverable in oriented
hierarchical decomposition of work. It should be executed by member team of assigned project
work. It is a method of dividing large project into small parts which helps in dealing with
complex and provide multi step to accomplish project (Duanmu, 2012). In simple words, work
breakdown structure can be considered as a key project deliverable that is used to organize the
team's work into manageable sections. This work breakdown structures can be used to define the
scope into manageable chunks that project team can understand as project is breakdown into
smaller components. It also provides a necessary framework which helps in detailed cost
estimating, control and provide guidance for schedule development and control. Work
breakdown structures aims is to manage large projects so that work can be done simultaneously
by different team members. this leads to improve in productive of team and provide ease in
overall project management.

Gantt chart
It can refer as a type of bar char which illustrate schedule of a project. Gantt chart shows
the relationship and dependency between activities and current schedule status. This chart
contains list of task that needs to be performed on vertical axis and the time intervals on the
horizontal axis (Getz, 2013). This can be helpful in planning of project where tasks are in proper
sequence which should be completed on given time period. This type of chart is mostly used for
project management. Different lengths of horizontal bar represent project timeline as it includes
sequences of task duration, start and end dates for each task. It helps in scheduling, managing
and monitoring of specific task as well as resources of the project. This chart is very helpful for
project managers and it provide aid to manager in communicating plan and status related to
project. It also ensures that project remains on track. Gantt chart can be used in various range of
projects such as building dams, bridges and highways, software development, development

Research Methodologies
Qualitative research
It is defined as method where data and information are collected when research is
conducted. Qualitative research is useful to gather non numerical data. By this method
behavioural of a person, perception of targeted audience can be evaluated easily. Qualitative
research is an approach which helps in gathering and analysing data which cannot be measure in
form of number (Gooris and Peeters, 2014). The methods used for such research are observation,
focus group, record keeping, case study, interview etc. Data collected in this research need
proper understanding of underlying opinions, reasons and motivation. In this research,
researchers collect data by using unstructured or semi structured techniques.
Quantitative research
In this method, researchers collect data which can be converted into numerical form.
Quantitative research is a systematic from of investing data and gathering information in
statistical, mathematical or computational techniques. Different sources of collecting and
analysing data in quantitative research is survey research, experimental research, online polls,
questionnaires etc. Data collection in quantitative research are gathered by using more structured
methods and it include larger sample which represent entire population. Qualitative data is in
numerical forms that is statistics, percentages, number etc.
Therefore, researcher has used qualitative research in order to collect data and
information in effective and efficient manner so that goal and objective can be achieved as it
provide quality information for given project.
Primary research
It can be referred as methodology used to collect first hand data. In primary research,
researchers collect data from their own and they are called as owner of that data (Hoskisson and
et. al., 2013). Data collected and analyses in this method is never used previously. Researchers
directly connect with source that can customers in target market to collect and evaluate data.
Tool and techniques used by researchers to collect primary data is in-depth interview, online or
offline survey, questionnaires, visiting different locations. This method is useful for collecting
specific data as there is no dilution of data. This method requires complete knowledge about
study so it is expensive in nature.
Secondary research
11
Document Page
It includes all those methods which helps in collecting data through already existing data.
Methods used in collecting data for secondary research is data available on online or internet,
information gathered from government and non government agencies and documents, libraries,
education institutions, newspaper, journals, magazines, T.V etc. (Jenkins, 2013). Data collected
in secondary research is already used as well as it is tried and tested data. In this researchers use
data which is collected and used in primary research. This method of collect data is quick and
does not take much time as data is already available to researchers.
Therefore, researcher has used primary data collection method where questionnaire has
been prepared and filled from respondents. This helps in knowing about impact of globalisation
on business.
Sampling
It is defined as process which is used in analysis of statistical data. In sampling, pre
determined number of observation is taken to represent large size population (Lu and et. al.,
2014). Sampling is considered as a selection of subset of individuals from statistical population.
This will represent characteristics of whole population. There are several methods of sampling
which is classified into probability sampling and non probability sampling. In probability
sampling each individual is eligible for to get selected sample. In non probability chance to get
selected depends upon ability of researcher. The researcher has used random sampling method
where they have chosen sample size of 30 respondents which includes employees of organisation
for collecting data and information.
Data Analysis
Questionnaire is defined as research instrument which consists of various questions for
collecting data and information from respondents.
