ASSIGNMENT A
List 5 initial inspirations
1. Pastel charm- This is the most effective room design in accordance with the requirement
of Moore' family. According to the given scenario, they do not want TV to be placed on
focal point. Hence, furniture like dining table/Goliath console, Sofa bunk bed and
controvertible sectional sofa can be used (Mason and Robinson, 2011). This facilitates to
make room more spacious where Mrs. Moore's kids can do home work and can also play
with toys.
2. All white-This is one of the most effective methods for creating multipurpose room.
Here, everything will be kept white such as blanket, wall colour, decorative items etc
(Kent and Stone, 2007). Furthermore, embellished wallpaper, coffee tables and room
with panoramic view can also be created. Similarly, chandelier look can also be given to
room with natural wood.

3. Divide it up-The image shown below reflects perfect aspect for design of a multipurpose
room. Here, Mrs. Annika and Mr. John can live in half part of room and rest other part
can be used for children (Small Space Solution, 2016). For dividing room, thin fabric of
curtain with bright colour can be used to give nice look to room. However, colour of wall
should match well with curtain as well as furniture used as depicted in image here.
4. Float 'Em-Here; Mr. Moore can use floating wall shelves to keep all his items on right
place effectively. Furthermore, floating shelves on white walls also give perfect look to
home. Here, Mrs. Annika Moore can keep her books well managed along with same; she

can also display some of her self designed antique jewellery to give more attractive look
to the room (Bai and Tan, 2013).
5. Scandinavian Glass- Under this, glass partition wall can be used in multipurpose room of
Mr. Moore. It helps to keep room very airy and open where kids of Mr. Moore can also
play with freedom (Zanin‐Yost, 2012). Here, simple furniture with clean lines helps to
look room more attractive. However, dining space and balcony can also be arranged
easily with Scandinavian glass.

ASSIGNMENT B
Selection of appropriate inspirational idea
According to aforementioned five ideas, the first one is the most appropriate. Owing to
this, idea of Pastel charm and Scandinavian Glass can be selected. This is because; it covers less
space and proves to be effective in accordance with requirement of family of Mr. Moore. Hence,
these two ideas have been selected by focusing on space to play and to meet the purpose of doing
home work for kids whereas in evening time Mr and Mrs. Moore require home for rest free from
toys. Here, wooden flooring is effective along with nice carpet of light colour (Multipurpose
Rooms that Work, 2016). Furthermore, multipurpose furniture and floating shelves cab be used
for meeting the requirement of Mrs. Moore. For example, following kinds of sofa bunk bed and
convertible sectional sofa help to stores books and toys of children while making room clean or
more spacious. In addition to this, following kind of glassy walls facilitates to keep dining space
and bedroom division along with nice gallery view for playing kids.

Trend and development of trend
Trend refers to change in behaviour and mentality which influence many people because
of innovation in interior world. It is developed with innovation and creativity of experts from
imaginary to real world which is acceptable by ample of people with a desire to give perfect and
modern look to their home. Trend keeps on changing in accordance with behaviour, preference
and attitude of people living in the society. It may be different from place to place and changes
with passage of time. For example, trend of traditional furniture has become obsolete after the
innovation of convertible furniture.

This A3 presentation board describes the complete architectural design which can be
done in the house of Moore's. The fabric can be selected from the above swatches and the wall
colors can also be chosen from the pallets. Furthermore, the images of furniture describes that
how the one amenity can be used for the fulfilling several purposes. In afternoon the area can be
used for completing the homework and other craft works. Further, the sofa and table can be made
as bed and the stuff such as toys can be pout inside the drawer so that Mr. and Mrs. Moore can
easily rest during the evening. This has been highly influenced by the Fashion and in current
trends these kind of multipurpose furniture are duly used in order to utilize the limited space in a
most efficient manner.
ASSIGNMENT E
Describing the purpose and importance of the design brief
The major purpose of design brief is to get everyone working on a project started by
having same understanding about the accomplishment of the project. The design brief gives
precise direction to and client can easily spell out their expectation (Ben‐Meir, 2011). It is
important to make design brief because the verbal brief does not feature in the list and they leads
to misunderstanding. In order to avoid such circumstances design brief is used.

Explaining the role and function of the interior designer
Interior designer is a person who practices a discipline which look after the designing of
all aspects of the interiors of an area. Furthermore, the interior designer has several role and
function for carrying out the practice (Fouskas, 2014). Moreover, the interior designer works on
a project when they are hired by an architect or any developer. The main function of them is to
meet the end users of the project where they attempt to understand about the utilization of the
space and they recognize how to maximally utilize the space. Furthermore, the designer mix and
match as per the trend and with the waste product they built something unique and different.
Therefore, these are some of the roles and function of an interior designer (Mason and Robinson,
2011).
ASSIGNMENT F
Identification of an interior design project
There is a particular procedure followed by the designer in order to accomplish the given
project. Some of the stages are involved as follows: Meeting the Client: The designer firstly attract the potential clients and then they
organize a meeting with them. After that, client meet the clients and make up their mind
that they are the best designer in the down by showing their portfolios to them.
Furthermore, in a meeting the requirements of the clients are taken and accordingly the
documentation is done by the designer (Fehlings and Helma, 2015). Understanding the Space Utilization: After the first step, designer go to the site and
identify the space area. During that designer attempt to understand the area and the best
utilization of space. A true designer is one who utilizes the space maximally.
Furthermore, the designer then create the layout of that space on the paper by measuring
the area from every corner. Searching of Alternatives: When the area identification is done by the designer, then
they search for the alternatives which can be the best design for the clients. In this, they
mix and match the available material and the requirement of new one (Harney, 2012).
They try to make new and trendy design which matches with the current trend. Along
with that, they also tries to make it cost effectively.

 Evaluation of the Alternatives: The several alternatives design selected by the designer
is evaluated on several parameters such as cost effectiveness, time consuming, current
trend, fulfillment of client expectancy, etc. This helps them to separate every alternatives
on the basis of pros and cons. Furthermore, this becomes easy for the designer to show it
to the clients (Harney, 2012). Selecting the Best Option: After analyzing all the parameters and evaluating the
alternatives on that basis, designer can now select the best suitable design after getting
approval from the client. Furthermore, this will help them to make the project
accordingly.
 Implementation: After selecting the best alternative, the designer now implement that
design in the given space. On a regular basis, they take the follow up so that cost does not
exceeded and also the project get accomplished in accordance with the design brief.
Along with that, the designer also try their best to accomplish the project in order to
satisfy their clients (Zanin‐Yost, 2012).
This is how all the stages are followed by the interior designer in order to accomplish the
project in a well manner.
