1 PROJECT BACKGROUND
1.1 General background
The project is based on construction work of minimum of 500 houses in Mumbai, India for
the poor people. The construction work is used to manage modular construction for getting
better result than the normal construction procedures. The main aim of the project plan is to
fulfill needs of the poor people and satisfy by providing possible project outcomes. The
duration of the construction work is 3 years. The construction work uses modular
construction in which the house is constructed off-site by means of same materials and
designing same codes plus standards for built facilities.
1.2 Significance and justification of project
The construction work is included of modular techniques which allow the builders to keep
positive cash flow without risk of the project client takes control of goods on the land.
Modular construction is built to suit the existing architecture style furthermore trends. The
houses are sustainable and supportive housing which are built for homeless and poor people
so that they can get houses to stay.
2 PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
The purpose of the project plan is to outline the project scope, time, cost and quality for
design and construction work of building. There are also significant risks associated with this
project work which is mitigated on time for project success. The completion of this plan will

DFMA method is used, which stand for Design for Manufacture and Assembly, which is
combination of two of the construction methods such as Design for Manufacture and Design
for Assembly. Design for manufacture means design for ease of the manufacturing of the
parts that can form the product. Design for assembly means design of the product for ease of
assembly. This method is used for the construction of 500 houses in Mumbai as it provides
guidance to the designing team to simplify the structure of product. It is also used as
benchmarking tool for studying products of competitors and cost tool for assisting in the
supplier negotiations. Following are the objectives of this project:
To design 500 houses in Mumbai, India for the poor people
To provide new sources for the revenue by attracting the local residents and members
of the building
To use DFMA method and modular construction techniques in the construction work
of houses
To estimate future requirements of the construction techniques
To meet with specific requirements of the construction work of the building work
To ensure for providing sustainable building work
3 EXPECTED PROJECT OUTCOMES
In the construction work of 500 building houses for poor people, the main design frameworks
are included such as:
A detailed review of the construction policies and standards which are included

management program is created which can mitigate identified risks to make an effectiveness
of the current risk management approaches for the company. There is development of
professional practice skills for the construction work.
4 METHODOLOGY TO BE ADOPTED AND PROJECT SCHEDULE
4.1 Methodology
In this research study, academic research is adopted to evaluate the risk management
strategies to assist in the development and construction work. There is investigation of
current construction standards of India which will focus to make sure that the program is
related to exiting construction industry requirements. Risk management methods will conduct
to determine the project risks, issues and programs which are available in the market. In this
construction work, DfMA is a design approach which is focused on ease of the manufacture
plus efficiency of the assembly. By simplification in design of the product, it is probable to
assemble in addition to manufacture the work in minimum time and lower cost. The main
principles related to DfMA are:
