1COMPATIBILITY AND DIFFERENCES
Introduction:
The aim of this report is to discuss the Myers-Briggs personality test for elaborating the
personality traits. This discussion will be detailing the similarities and dissimilarities of the other
personalities. This report describes the comparison of three personality types that are compatible
with myself and three personality types that are very different from that of me. This report will
first describe the personality traits processed by me them compare six of the similar and
dissimilar personalities in terms of compatibility.
Myers-Briggs personality test for own personality:
This test has four scales based on which the personality can be understood. From this test,
I have identified that my personality traits are ESTJ-A. This refers that in the Extrovert and
Introvert factor, I have scored 58% for extrovert and show inclination to the extroverts. This
means that I communicate with people and gain knowledge. In Sensing and Intuition dimension,
I have scored 66% for sensing or observant personality. This means that is prefer use my
physical senses to gain knowledge from the people and things around me. In the Thinking and
Feeling dimension, I have 60% preference for thinking dimension which captures the fact that I
do not prefer to make decisions randomly but undergo an intense thinking process for reach a
solution. In doing so, I think quite rationally and logically for deciding. In the Judging and
Perception dimension, I have scored 51% in the judging personality which means that I prefer
organization to increase my efficiency.
Compatibilities:
As my own personality traits is ESTJ-A type, I feel compatible with the persons having
ISTP, ISTJ and ESTP personality traits. In the aspect of ISTP personality trait, the only

difference between me and my friend is the communication style of us (Furnham & Crump,
2015). I am extrovert and prefer to communicate with others and share knowledge through
effective communication. On the contrary my friend is introvert hence do not share their feelings
and communicate in any issue unless asked for. The compatibility level with this friend is higher
as we focus on the present, work with burst of energy and get excited by change. Another most
important factor of us is that we prefer practical experience rather than lectures.
ISTJ is also compatible with my personality type also because he prefers to keep the
environment well regulated. Unlike my personality he is also give utmost attention to the details
of his work and does not put it until completed. He is faithful and logical like me. Finally, the
ESTP is the pragmatic doer. Unlike me, he aims to excel in the crisis and have high risk-taking
mentality. This class mate is an energetic and enthusiastic extrovert. Unlike me the also is action
oriented but make a prompt decision which I do not.
On the contrary to these personality traits, the friends with whom I do not fell compatible
at all are INFJ, INFP and ENTP. The INFJ personality is more value driven hence and seek the
meaning of relationship and events which is completely different from my personality (Furnham,
2017). Moreover, these people are introvert and complex in nature who exercise their influence
openly. These people are more seeking to understand the hidden meaning and possibilities of the
incidents which I can never do. INFP is also very introvert who are reserved yet polite in nature.
They have a serious exterior in order to make themselves difficult to know initially but they
enjoy conversation. My incompatibility lies in the fact that this friend of mine takes particular
delight in the unusual things which I cannot do. However, this friend is caring as he respects and
guard the emotion of other by protecting people in distress. This type of personality I cannot feel
compatible as these people rely on the feelings and perceptions which is not my type of

personality. Finally, ENTP is also against my personality types. This is due to the fact that this
friend of mine analysis’s interrelationships in detail. Through he thinks like me but have a
perverse sense of humor and love to debate in any situation. He tries to make the world better
situation by all in their perception.
Conclusion:
Therefore, it can be concluded that the Myers-Briggs personality test is quite helpful to
understand by strengths and identify the compatibility level with some of the classmates of mine.
The reasons of conflict with others is also clear for my incompatibility with three completely
different personalities. This will help me in future to manage and communicate with people.
