Date rape is considered to be the form of crime, in which, the sexual assault is done by a
person who is known to the victim. Some defines date rape as the kind of sexual harassment, in
which there remains a sort of sexual or romantic relationship between the two parties. In other
words it can be said that, the forceful sexual intercourse, in which, the victim may be the wife or
girlfriend of the criminal or the victim has a friendship with the person who tried to commit this
offense. Some consider date rape as a form of Acquaintance rape (Cowling, 2018).

The laws regarding Acquaintance rape is not at all strong or in favor of Canadian women.
Moreover, in case of date rape, as the sexual harassment is done by a person with whom the
victim is in a relationship, it is difficult to gather evidences against the criminal in this case.
