INTRODUCTION
Formal or informal relation between employees and employer's within workplace is
known as employee relation (Anitha, 2014). Nando's is a fast food chain which originated from
South Africa. It is present in around 35 countries with more than 1000 outlets. They are
specialised in Portuguese style chicken with different peri-peri marinades. This report covers
value and importance of employee relations within organisation at global era. Further, it will
outline employment laws followed by organisation for effective working, various rights, duties
and obligations of employer and employees. Recommendations related to rights, duties and
obligations and analysis of stakeholder and impact of employee relationship on stakeholders is
analysed.

P1. Values and importance of employee relations to Nando's fast food company
Employee relations means effort of organisation to establish effective relationship
between employees and employers. When good relation is maintained between employees they
are treated consistently and fairly. This resolves and prevents different problems occurring
within Nando's fast food firm in all its outlets. HR strategies are opted by restaurant to ensure
effective employee relations. High value is given to employees within restaurant. Within
restaurant employees are committed for its success or failure (Baddon and et. al, 2017).
Employees are treated as stakeholders who have high power to affect outcomes of organisation,
by this they feel valued. Nando's restaurant has ensured that employee relations are build within
every outlet. They work globally to provide services to their customers. An example can be taken
to further understand concept of employee relation like management of Nando's restaurant
ensured that effective equipments are provided to employees so that they can work effectively
and their health and safety can be considered. This is ensured in every outlet present anywhere.
Values or importance of employee relations in respect to restaurant is shown below:
Productivity:
Strong employee relations is important as it create healthy and pleasant work
environment as a result of this motivation and morale of employees is enhanced. Manager of
Nando's restaurant shares healthy relationship with employees, which helps in managing

National Minimum Wage Act, 1998
As per this Act, wages of employees are on the basis of their age. Employees who have
age greater than 25 are paid £7.83, who have age between 21 and 24 are given £7.38 and those
whose age is 18 to 20 they are given £5.90. This amount is paid to them on per hour basis
(Dastmalchian, Blyton and Adamson, 2014). It is expected that wages will increase to £9 by
2020. Nando's restaurant has implemented this law within their business, to ensure that
employees are paid as per what they deserve and there is not discrimination in terms of salary of
employees. This act is followed by Nando's restaurant in every outlet so that employees are paid
a reasonable amount according to their age. Apart from this management of Nando's restaurant

Employment Right Act, 1996

orientation, sex and religion or belief. Nando's restaurant has effectively implemented this law
for ensuring that safe environment for each individual working with firm. If any kind of
discrimination occurs within restaurant then strict action is taken by manager. Employees are not
