The proposed topic for the research is “Data Privacy concerns and governance in National Bank
of Abu Dhabi”.
Enhancement in technology and economic globalization have outsourced a numerous
challenges. Organizations have been dependent on technology and digital form of data. People
have been engaging in online banking and shopping systems and sharing their private data over
the internet [1]. There have been many issues reported in online banking systems and transaction
sin banking sector. This research will focus on security issues reported in National Bank of Abu
Dhabi. According to reports of last five years, there has been increase of data breaches in Middle
East banks including National Bank of Abu Dhabi. The UAE government has taken several steps
in order to control these situations and there have been millions of financial losses happened in
last five years [2]. Therefore, this research will focus on data protection laws and information
security in the UAE banking sector.
Research questions are as follows:
What is the current issues faced in the National Bank of Abu Dhabi?
What are current laws monitoring these security breaches in National Bank of Abu
Dhabi?
What can be done to mitigate these security breaches in National Bank of Abu Dhabi?
This research will focus on mixed methodology which include both primary and secondary
method of data collection. Online survey with 50 employees of National Bank of Abu Dhabi will
be done in order to gain data related to security issues faced in the bank. Online journals and
articles will be utilized to collect secondary data. Data will be analyzed utilizing Likert Scale of
5 point. Graphs and tables will be provided during data analysis methods.
