INTRODUCTION
Management is the activity with the help of which the organisations aims to achieve their
objectives by efficiently utilising their resources and by controlling and managing the efforts of
the employees (Hyde, 2019). Organisations take various actions and steps with the help of
which they can improve the quality of life of the customers by satisfying their needs and wants.
For this they offer wide variety of products and services to them. With the same reason various
musical events are organised. Music festivals are the community events in which various
performers give their live performances which include both singing and playing of the musical
instruments. Such festivals are organised with some themes such as genre, nationality, locality,
culture etc. these musical events are organised by the various oragsnaition indoor as well as
outdoor which depends upon the nature and themes, crowd and the other related activities.
This report is based on a project related to the musical festival to be organised by
National Museum Wales. The AC-NMW is an organisation which is supported by the Welsh
Government and it comprises of seven museums in Whales. All these museums are highly
renowned and attract a lot of visitors every day. AC-NMW aims to organise an event music
festival in one of their sites i.e., St Fagans, National History Museum. This is considered to be
one of the largest museums of all seven. It is an open museum which frequently organise various
events for celebrating the culture and the life of Welsh. The museum has gone for
redevelopment and now it is an opportunity to organise an event herein. AC-NMW aims to
organise an event with which they can create a new culture and encourage participation of the
public so that the collection of the museum can be appraised and various stories can be
developed for the collection which can promote it.
As AC-NMW aims to organise a musical festival in St Fagans, National History Museum
so to support this various analysis are conducted in this report by identifying various objectives.
For achieving such objectives various supportive evidences are provided which includes various
analyses such as PESTLE Analysis for the identification of the market, SWOT analysis for the
determination of the strengths and weaknesses of the current activities and future events. In

addition to this feasibility analysis was supported with the help of various factors that need to be
considered are identified so that the event can be organised efficiently. This includes mapping of
the stakeholders, determination of the market factors along with technical and organisational
feasibility. Apart from this the cost benefit analysis was undertaken in which they have focussed
upon the biding from suppliers so that they can finance various activities related to the event. For
support the entire event a Gantt chart is prepared with the help of which the timely completion of
the project can be ensured. On the basis of this a reflection is provided in which all the problems
that are faced by the project managers along with various learning are discussed which can
support to develop an understanding of which problems can impact and to what extent also what
can be possible actions that can be taken.

various methodologies will be used so that analysis can be done effectively. It is important to
determine various methodologies before starting project as with this it can be ensure that from
where the data need to be collected (Metcalfe, 2018). The approach that will be taken into
consideration for achieving this objective includes the secondary research which suggest that
study is done the secondary data and moreover a text of research with various theoretical
information. For supporting all the analysis that are undertaken in the report various secondary
information were gathered and with the help of which critical analysis was facilitated that
supported the study.
OBJECTIVE 1
Stakeholder Mapping
In order to make project successful it is important that the support and trust of all the
stakeholders who are either directly or indirectly linked with the project or are affected by the
decisions being made during the project can be achieved. Stakeholders are important to be
satisfied by the project so that they can support in making the project successful and sustainable.
Stakeholder mapping is a process in which all the stakeholders who are linked with the project
are identified and visually represented on one map so that all the people who can influence the
direction of the project can be represented (Bideci and Albayrak, 2018). In this report a
feasibility study related to a project wherein a music festival is proposed to be implemented at
AC-NMW which can help in creating a more dynamic and inclusive environment at the museum
so that all the visitors can gain an idea about Welsh culture can be created is discussed. The
stakeholders who will be affected by this project will be tourists, museum authority, government
of Wales, Welsh community, press etc. It is important that these stakeholders are identified so
that they can be influenced by the benefits of the project so that their support can be gained.
The stakeholder mapping can thus help in identifying the people who can impact on the
successful implementation of the project and achieving the objectives of the project. It will also
help in managing their expectations in an efficient manner. Involving the stakeholders can also
Document Page
help in gaining their insights on the project so that new ideas on how the project can be made
better can also be achieved which will help in enhancing the quality of the project. There are
various ways through which the stakeholders can be identified:
Brainstorming: The potential stakeholders can be identified by the way of brainstorming
so that the people who will be affected by the project can be identified and influenced so
that they can support the sustainability of the project (Gómez-Zapata and Herrero-Prieto,
2018).
Prioritization: It is important that the identified stakeholders are prioritized base on their
level of influence and interest in the outcomes of the project so that efforts can be made
on influencing the people who have great impact on the project.
Stakeholder communication: It is important that effective communication with the
stakeholders is done so that they can get an idea about the project and can help in making
the project successful. The benefits of the project must be communicated to them so that
they can understand about the importance of project like the music festival can help in
creating a more dynamic, participative and inclusive museum culture which can help in
spreading the awareness about the history and culture of Wales to its visitors in an
efficient manner. It will also help in developing a unique experience so that more number
of visitors can be attracted (Knudsen, 2016).
Stakeholder analysis
It is a process through which the stakeholders of the project can be categorised based on
their level of participation, interest and interest in the project so that it can be identified that
which stakeholders are of the highest priority for the success and sustainability of the project.
The project in this report is related with implementation of music festival in AC-NMW will be
done that can help in its re-development which makes it important that the stakeholders are
identified so that their sentiments so not get hurt and also the ancient culture and history of
Wales can be respected. Following are the ways in which the stakeholders can be analysed based
on their level of interest and power on a project:
High power, high interest: These are the stakeholders who are highly interested in the
project and also have high power on the success of the project. These people must be
highly engaged in the project so that they can be satisfied and their support can be gained
like Welsh community and media (Jablonkowska, 2016).

High power, low interest: These are the people who have high power on the project
outcomes but are less interested in how it is being executed. These people must be kept
satisfied but they must not be much involved in the project as they can become bored
with the message like authorities of museum
Low power, high interest: These are the people who are highly interested in the project
but they do not have power over the project and so they must be communicated
adequately so that their interest can be continued which can help in getting support from
them like the visitors.
Low power, low interest: These are the people who neither have power nor are interested
in the outcomes of the project and so they can be kept adequately satisfied by the project
but excessive communication can bore them like the people of other nations.
Thus it is important that the stakeholder so identified are kept satisfied by the project so that
they can be involved in making decisions that can help in gaining their support which is
important for the success of the project. These stakeholders must be kept satisfied which can help
in achieving the objectives of the project and also in attracting more number of visitors to AC-
NMW.
Market analysis
Market analysis is related to assessing the market both qualitatively and quantitatively so
that both the value and volume of market can be determined which can help in determining the
feasibility of the project. It help in determining the ability of a project in gaining the desired
objectives so that it can be determined of the project must be carried out or not. This will help in
gaining information about the attractiveness of the project and its ability in being successful over
a long period of time. The market analysis can help in determining the following information
based on which the feasibility of the project can be determined:
Market size: It is related with the size or the number of customers that are present in the
market so that the feasibility of a project can be determined. In this project wherein re-
development of the AC_NMW is done so that the museum can become more inclusive
and create an engaging environment for the visitor so that the Welsh culture and history
can be made understood to the tourist in an interesting manner. as music festival will be
implemented in the museum it can help in attracting a large number of tourists from
many places thereby increasing the market size of the museum (Franklin, 2016). This can
Document Page
also help in generating more profit and also in spreading information about the culture of
Wales.
Growth rate of the market: As the tourism industry is increasing and the visitors are
always looking for placers that can help in fascinating them along with increasing their
knowledge the growth rate of market is high. The music festival implementation in AC-
NMW can help in attraction a large number of tourist and help in the economic
development of the region making this project feasible. The rate at which market is
expanding affect the success of the project so it is important that the project is established
at a place that has an expanding market.
Market profitability: The profitability of the market can be determined by the number of
customers that are available in the market which can help in increasing the profits of the
business. As tourism industry is increasing the ability of market in growing and
expanding is more that can help in generating huge profits through the project. The music
festival in museum can help in attracting more number of tourist so it can be said that the
profit of the project is more (Adelt, 2017).
Key success factors: These are the factors that play an important role in the success of a
project and must be considered so that the project can be made sustainable over a long
period of time. The key success factors of the project are music events, sound system,
visitors, media coverage, marketing etc. which can help in making the project highly
successful and also in increasing the profits of the project. It is thus important that while
implementing the project the success factors are present which can help in making the
project successful and achieving the aims of the project and also in spreading the
knowledge about the culture and history of the project.
Distribution channels: These are the factors that help in determining the ease of
conducting a business by having effective distribution channels so that customers can be
reached easily and they can be provided with the goods and services on time. In this
project the effectiveness with which marketing is done about the music festival will help
in determining the success of the project. Use of advertisements on social media, TVs etc.
can help in broadcasting about the project so that a large number of tourists can be
attracted. Also having efficient transportation system, accommodation facilities, and
recreational activities can help in making the project more successful (Bourne, 2016).

Forecasting factors that can affect the successful implementation of project
It is important that the factors that can affect the effective implementation of the project are
identified so that appropriate steps can be taken on the right time and in an effective manner
which can help in minimising the negative impacts of these factors. These factors can pose a risk
at the success and sustainability of the project and should be identified on time which can help in
taking efficient measures. This will help in making the music festival at AC_NMW highly
successful; and will contribute towards the economic development and also in spreading about
the knowledge of history and culture of the project. Following are the factors that can be
forecasted before starting the project so that it can be completed in an efficient manner and on
time so that the objectives can be efficiently achieved:
Clearly defining the objectives: It is important that the goals and objectives that are to be
achieved by the project must be realistic and clearly defined so that all the team members
can be efficiently involved in its completion. This help in completing the project on time
and in an efficient manner (Knecht, Herber and Stephen, 2018).
Designing a realistic budget and schedule: It is important that a realistic budget and time
schedule is formed so that the costs can be apportioned amongst all the activities in an
efficient manner so that each activity can be completed on time. Budget must be designed
in such a manner so that all the activitiesv can be completed on time. Using a Gantt Chart
can help in dividing time in an appropriate manner among all the activities so that they
can be completed using sufficient time.
Ensuring that the forecasting is driver-based: It means that the forecasting is done base
on the factors that can help in analysing the drivers which influence in the completion of
the project. This can help in analysing the impact of finances, risks etc. so that project can
be strategically completed. This will help in making sure that the music festival at
museum will be successful and help in attracting more number of tourists and help in
making the AC-NMW a unique tourist spot.
Increasing participation of all the members associated: All the stakeholder who are
associated with the project must be included in the execution of the project so that an
inclusive working environment can be created that can help in completion of the project
ion time. It will also help in gaining the support of the stakeholders so that project can be
made highly effective (Larondelle, Frantzeskaki and Haase, 2016).

Analysing the risk factors: It is important that the risk factors which can negatively affect
the success of the project are analysed so that effective actions can be taken that can help
in minimising these risks. Risks such as not being able to get permission from
government, opposition by the media etc. are the risks that can affect the success of
project.
OBJECTIVE 2
PESTLE analysis of the new project
Pestle analysis is a tool and a framework of management with the help of which the impact
of various external factors can be identified on the strategies of the business its decision making.
The success of the business is directly dependent upon the ability of to adapt the change that is
taking place within the business environment. This tool is considered to be an effective tool for
analysing the macroeconomic perception and to facilitate long term strategic planning. With this
understanding of various factors such as political, economic, social, legal and environmental.
Apart from this, the model can be used by the organizations for gathering information about the
client that concerns the external factors (Pérez-Gálvez, 2017). The musical festival attract a lot of
people due to which the companies focuses upon organising such events but they are affected by
various external factors as they have various adverse impact on the society and the environment.
To support this project it is important to determine the impact of all such factors on the
organisation of the event of the musical festival by AC-NMW. This will ensure that all the
planning and strategy are formulated well in advance so that any influence can be managed.
Various external factor along with the extent along with their impact are given below:
Political factors: In the political factors various influencers must be taken into consideration such
as political stability, tax implications, policies of the government, trade agreements on a global
level, various restrictions imposed on the engagement of the shareholders and many more. In UK
the prevailing political conditions are stable due to political stability this has positive impact on
the musical festival to be organised by AC-NMW because it is expected that they not bring any
change in the policies in the near future. Also the live music act so imposed on the music event
that are organised in open air has taken over the requirement of license which is also an
opportunity for them to successfully organise the event. But to manage the local authority is must
Document Page
in context of the noise pollution so created due to the event and this can affect the organisation of
the event at a particular location (Gottfried, 2018).
Economic factors: While considering the economic factor impact of various factors such as
interest rate, inflation, cost of living in the economy, economic growth, exchange rate etc. must
be considered as they have direct impact on the profitability of the organisation. The musical
festivals are recreational activity due to which everyone shows their interest in taking part in
such festivals. Due to this it does not have any impact of the economic recessions that may
prevail as people save their money and spend on such events which also implies that they are not
affected by the income level of the people in the economy. National Museum Wales has
opportunity to easily organise such an event as they do not have any significant impact of
economic factors (Hunter, Reid and Boddy, 2018).
Social factors: The impact of social factors is also very crucial to understand as the organisation
ultimately aims to satisfy its customers. The factors includes lifestyle choices of the people,
expectations, cultural norms, behaviour and attitude, level of education, demographics of the
population, and many more. With the changing the preference of the people and the changing
outlook towards life such events has positive impact of it. The people in UK are open to such
activities due to which they take interest and with this AC-NMW can easily attract significant
number of audiences to the event. But it is affected by the type of event that is being organised
such as if the cultural or any folk festival will be organised then the number may not be large.
This can affect the event and its success which is must for AC-NMW to take into consideration
at the time of planning to organise the event (Jiang, 2018).
Technological factors: Technological advancement has been emerging significantly which has a
greater influence on each and every organisation as to ensure their survival they have to adopt
new technology and innovation. Various factors that must be considered which include
automation in the processes, new innovation in the techniques, change in the existing technology
which has impact on the outcomes, emergence of artificial intelligence etc. The live events uses
better technology due to which they must need to appoint such a company that can provide them
better sound system and platform for the singers and musicians to show their talent. But this will
adversely affect the availability of funds with the company. Due to this National Museum Wales
must carry out the bidding process so that they can organise an event as per their requirement.
