3.2 how a morning activity of orienteering and raft building, could help to develop the team

Orienteering:- it is a group sports event that requires the navigational skills of the leader and
participants. It is a unique kind of race which usually performed at the unfamiliar places. And in
fast moving participants have to take care about the typographical maps given to them. This also
a good example of teams work and leadership skills which also requires smooth functioning of

Tuckman and Jenson model
In 1965 Dr Bruce Tuckman give this theory. In this theory Dr conclude 4 major steps of team
work.
1. Forming- in this step this is highly depended on the leader guidance and direction. The
teams aims are received from the leader of the team. Leaders may have to face the so
many questions about the aim and purpose of the team (Davies, Curtin and Robson,
2017).
2. Storming- it is not easy to make the aim of the organizations. Leaders have to face many
problems while making the aims and objectives of the teams. Without being distracted
from the emotions and relations focus on the objective or purpose of the organization.
3. Norming:-norming is to assign individual there duty and task so that they can understand
there roles and responsibilities and perform there work without conflict (Brody and

works for the accomplishment of the organization goals but these teams don't have any guider or

work performance of the employees if they are self managed because they take their own
decisions and for that they do not have to take any permissions which helps to increase
productivity of the workers (Patton, Parker and Tannehill, 2015).
These teams are lead by the following ways-
Communicate- by the communication this will help to get the motivation by the communication.
Communication also help to make teams coordination and the working easy. Communication
make the working without conflict and clearly so that it will not make any confusion among the
employees.
Metrics- this a multi dimensional working environment of working. In self managed groups the
working is based on the multi dimensions every employee perform different task and duties.
