Topic
APPLICATION OF NATURAL PLASTER
IN BUILDING
1.1 Introduction
This focus of this project is to bring innovation and invention to design a natural plaster used
for residential and other types of buildings. This is not similar to the already existing plaster
which is generally used all over the world in various types of construction. . The major
breakthrough achieved by Natural Plaster is replacing cement with Indian breed cow dung.
The formula for mixing cow dung and gypsum along with other natural ingredients proved
beneficial for the production of plaster. The thermal insulating properties of cow dung plaster
have a cooling effect in summers and keep houses warm in winters. Unlike cement plaster
which makes homes warmer in summers and cooler in winters. Another great property is it
acts as an air purifier and releases positive energy in the house. The radiation shielding

water as required in another case. The cost-effective cow dung plaster which is way cheaper
than the cement plaster is the reason for its success. Looking at the global issues like global
warming, food security issues, unemployment, population and many more as listed by United

Thermal insulating properties
Air purifier
Positive energy environment
Less use of water

1.3 Challenges faced
The saddest barrier or obstacle posed by the mind-set of the people towards cow dung. The
usage of cow dung in a product for them is not up to their standard. The humongous
challenge was to change the thinking toward cows. Next, lack of institutional support from
concerned authorities placed in ministry. The time spent in gaining the trademark for the
product. Until then the fear and uncertain climate have occurred overall. The more
significant challenge was to carve a niche for the product. Convincing distributors, training

team members on how to develop skill sets of labors – the vital link in this process showed
expected challenges. Generating awareness and building trust towards the product once again
made the path trying to tread. Though, the way was challenging but not impossible to
achieve because eventually, the sustainability criteria played for the product. To operate at a
large scale and meeting consumer demand on time was challenging initially but now lessons
are learned through experience.
1.4 The problems which is concerned with innovation and engineering
This project is based on innovation which consists of factors that help in the development of
natural plaster and also highlight the measures which helps to figure out the solution that
engineers are facing with this issue of pollution that is extracted while making cement. As
the construction industry is increasing day by day so there is huge amount of cement material
is required in plastering process on brick wall all over the world but if replace it natural
plaster then it will decrease the consumption of artificial plaster in construction industry.
1.5 Innovation Tool
There is a number of tools that would be used to bring innovation in the floating homes
which involve expert judgement, brainstorming and SWOT analysis (Juan, 2013). With the
help of these tools the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats which are associated
with the natural plaster are evaluated. The prime strengths of the natural plaster are: It is
based on the utility of natural resources (sustainable development) and effectively deals with
the environment (Kornoushenko, 2018). This report will help in adopting materials which are
natural in term of tools for its execution such gypsum, Indian cow dung etc...

If the innovation which is proposed will be successful it won't be beneficial just for people or
companies it won't affect the environment any more. This prospect has a great value in the
market as if it gets successful then environment will be very much free of pollution and
engineers are getting aids by many businessman and the government to make it successful.
1.7 Feasibility
Even after knowing that measures are being taken to increase the safe measures. A natural
plaster used for residential home to provide pollution free environment. If the innovation gets
successfully launched and natural plaster starts getting preferred then buildings which are
going to made now will not require the need of thermal insulator. To make this gap right
change is required and that change is calling the need of a plaster which is natural and does
not extract or release pollution that is why now companies are using a plaster which is made
from the dung of cows with some chemicals added into it. It is obvious that substance of
gypsum and dung of cows are cheaper than a good thermal insulator and humans of low class
have already used it in their houses way before the situation of pollution has arised.
Substance which is known as Gypsum has used in making pyramids and churches which are
now ancient are standing for over thousands years.
PROJECT PLAN
For the development of the proposed project cost-benefit analyst, program evaluation review
techniques, project management approach and work breakdown structure, Gantt chart would
be used. For proceeding the project on the right track systematic and flexible project
management approach would be adopted (Fan et al., 2011).
1.8 Conclusion and recommendation
