AI Summary
This essay explores the critical issue of pollution during nature trips, emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and proactive measures for environmental conservation. It introduces the Theory of Environmental Sustainability, advocating for the protection of global ecosystems and responsible consumption of natural resources. Through visual research analysis, the essay examines the impact of improper waste disposal on a local hill, highlighting the need for sustainable development practices, effective waste management strategies, and public awareness campaigns. The essay concludes by underscoring the alarming nature of pollution and the necessity of implementing pollution prevention strategies to ensure the long-term sustainability of the environment for future generations, while also advocating for the use of the 3R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

SECTION-1 INTRODUCTION
I pass by a small hill on my way to school which is a very popular hangout spot for
children. However I couldn't help but notice how many wrappers of food items along with trash
cans were dispersed all around that hill. While, I cannot control the activities of other humans but
I can definitely create awareness about this issue and ensure that appropriate measures are
implemented for the conservation of nature and biodiversity. This essay highlights the
importance of self reflection for conservation of nature and measures to avoid pollution in
natural surroundings.
SECTION 2- THEORY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
There are various health hazards that rise from environmental pollution which directly
impact human beings. Therefore, for protection of human species and reducing the amount of
health hazards it is necessary to implement measures that control pollution (Rajmohan and et. al.,
2019). Therefore, for this essay I will analyse “The Theory of Environmental Sustainability” to
enforce property rights and control the intensity at which pollution hazards are rising. According
to this theory, “it is the responsibility of human, as consumers of natural resources to protect
global ecosystems and support their well-being, now and in the future.”
Natural resources present on the earth are
classified as renewable and non renewable
resources. However, the intensity at which
humans are exploiting these resources, for
economic gain, is concerning. Therefore, various
approaches should be implemented for control of
the same. Sustainability, in general, is a form of
ethics which are integrated for the conservation of
the environment (Fan and et. al., 2021).
This theory supports the implementation of economical actions for the conservation of
the environment so that natural resources are conserved for the future generations. For the
development of a visual analysis, I will be investigating this case of environmental degradation
through visual research. I will be opting for visual research for the analysis of this case so as to
rely on artistic mediums to represent my knowledge of this particular research methodology.

These visuals mediums are a great source of information and are able to capture the reality of the
situation. As in this case, the hill I pass by everyday is severely polluted with wrappers, plastic
bottles and other waste materials (Liang and et. al., 2021). Therefore, according to the theory of
the sustainability, the government officials should employ watchers to prevent polluting the hill.
SECTION 3 VISUAL RESEARCH ANALYSIS
Sustainable development for the hill will include making environment friendly decision
to accommodate the needs of both, current and future generations. This pattern of continuous
pollution has threatened the integrity of the ecosystem of that hill along with the lives of people
living in the neighbourhood. There is a high chance of earth becoming unsustainable if human
activities are not controlled. The pollution of nature is mainly due to improper disposal of solid
industrial, medical and agricultural waste. The condition of soil, air and water should be studied
upon while implementing measures to reduce environmental pollution. A specific waste
management strategy should be included in the final disposal of waste. The hill, which is heavily
polluted should contain dustbins for both, wet and dry waste, so that people are motivated to do
it correctly. Managerial bodies should promote proper disposal of waste through posters,
campaigns and newspapers. Those who fail to comply by these rules and regulations should be
fined heavily (Zhugeand et. al., 2020). The domestic waste generated is supposed to be
transferred to appropriate disposable sites by municipal workers. The local people in the area
should acknowledge the fact that improper disposal of these wastes can allow escape of
poisonous gases in the atmosphere of earth, thereby causing more damage to human lives. The
proper disposal of waste should be encouraged and throwing of wrappers at inappropriate sites
should be avoided. The vehicular emissions can be reduced by encouraging the use of public
transport and carpooling. The use of renewable energy resources should be promoted as it takes
millions of years for non-renewable energy sources to become available for generations to come.
The pollution generated as a result of human activities can directly contaminate water bodies and
soil on land. This can cause killing of crops and reduction in the yield of agricultural produce.
The presence of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide in the air can lead to acid rain as these
harmful substances react with oxygen and water present in the atmosphere (He and et. al., 2019).
Some common strategies that can be employed for controlling pollution include- a proper
collection system for waste disposal, knowledge about classification of wet and dry waste. The
biodegradable waste, such as fruit and vegetable peels, paper etc., can be used in fertilizers or as

fuels for generating electricity. Similarly, non biodegradable materials, such as plastic, PVC etc.
which takes hundreds of years to decompose, can be used to make better alternatives such as
roads. A major global concern is environmental pollution causing harmful effects on the health
of an individual as well as on the environment.
Some measures which can be undertaken for
lessening the effect the environmental pollution
consist of smoking cessation, discarding use of open
pit fires as they release harmful gases in the
atmosphere, use of eco-friendly biodegradable
products instead of plastic, which is highly toxic in
nature (Sun and et. al., 2021). Disposal of toxic
waste should be done carefully along with
employing anti-litter campaigns to educate the
common folks.
The most important strategy to follow to is comply by the use of 3R's which stands for
Reduce, Reuse and Recycling of natural resources. Volunteering for clean ups in the local area.
Proper use of solar energy and avoiding the use of plastic bags can effectively help reduce the
effect of pollution in local area. It is very crucial to eliminate the use of wood fire stoves and
burning of leaves, trash and other gardening trash to avoid the negative effects particulate matter
in the air. Some specific measures to control pollution include disposal of waste in sanitary
landfills and the practice of recycling (Maji and et. al., 2018). The regulatory bodies should be
employed in investing in renewable sources of energy such as wind and solar energy along with
minimizing the burning of fossil fuels as these factors contribute a lot to environmental and
nature's pollution.
CONCLUSION
From the above essay it can be concluded that, pollution of the nature is alarming and
appropriate measures should be implemented for their control, as otherwise, it can serious affect
the entire human population. Strategies for pollution prevention should be employed for

conservation of natural resources and strengthening economic growth all around the world.
Reducing the effect of pollution can contribute positively towards climate change and save a
significant amount of energy. In the long run, the conservation of natural resources can help
increase the sustainability of the environment for future generations.
