2.2 Communication Skills
There are some major skills which helps in communicating with the cancer patient which
are mentioned as – Assessing the body language, making the interactions easier with them so that
they are able to understand how effectively the care is being taken of the cancer patients. Talking
with the cancer patients patiently and listening to their problems and issues to solve them
effectively (Baby and et.al., 2018).
The communication that will be done with the team members such as doctors and nurses
will be done by ensuring that the prescription which the cancer patients are following is in proper
manner or not. Communicating with the doctors and nurses about the medicines and treatment
which will be give to the cancer patients. The doctors and nurses will communicate the treatment
and care to be provided to the cancer patient.
The communication which will be done with the family will be concerned with the care
and diligence which will be taken for the cancer patient (McCorry and et.al., 2020). The
medication and treatment of the patient will be communicated to the family members so that they
are aware of the actions taken for cure of the illness. To be honest and communicate all the
essential information regarding the cancer patients cure and illness will be done in effective
manner.
2.3 Team Building / Collaboration
The collaboration with the team members consist of the doctors, nurses and therapist. For
taking care of the cancer patients, all types of care and services are to be provided which helps in
creating value of health of the patients in healthcare sector. Delegation of roles and
responsibilities will be done to the doctors, therapists and nurses so that they are able to take care
of the cancer patients and deliver the care services effectively and in proper manner (Wei and
et.al., 2020). Assigning of specific responsibilities and tasks will be done so that the nurses and
therapists are able to take care of the cancer patients and help them recover from the illness by

checking their daily routines. This will help in knowing that the doctors and nurses are
effectively taking care of the cancer patient. Handling the conflicts while performing the roles
and responsibilities is also to be taken care of.
Participating with the team members is helpful in communicating the roles and
responsibility as it helps in taking decisions regarding how care and other health services will be
provided to the cancer patients. Participating with the team members helps in knowing the care
services which are provided to the cancer patients so that they recover fast.
2.4 Psychosocial Care
Psychosocial Care is defined as the care which is concerned with the psychological, social,
emotional and spiritual wellbeing of the patient and their family members. This helps in knowing
that by collaborating with the team members such as doctors, nurses and therapists care can be
taken which also ensures that the patients are concerned with their health. The psychosocial are
is being taken for patients and family members which helps in improving the patients’ health
outcomes and quality of life at large scale. The care services can be provided to the cancer
patients with the help of counselling sessions and activities which will engage them in knowing
the positive outlook of looking towards their life and improving their health by taking proper
medication and treatment (Güner and et.al., 2018).
Psychosocial care is being provided to the family members by initiating the
communication sessions with them so that the care and services will be provided to the cancer
patients appropriately and in effective manner possible. The aspects such as family members
suffering from anxiety, feelings of powerlessness due to the cancer patients’ illness will be
analyzed and evaluated at large scale. There will be measures as to how care is being given to
them.
2.5 Management and Leadership Skills
There are some of the main leadership and management skills which help in knowing that
how effectively and in appropriate manner leadership capability in nursing will be delivered to
the cancer patients who are in need of the care. There are some of the leadership skills and traits
which will be delivered during the care of the cancer patients is by practicing the care and
concern towards the patient and the treatment which will be ongoing for cure. Mentoring of

Leadership skills which will help in delivering the role and responsibilities in the care of
the patients also consist of educating the others about the care provided to the cancer patients
with the help of how effectively the team members, doctors and nurses of how significantly the
care is being provided to the cancer patients by delivering the roles and responsibilities which are
assigned to the team members. Along with this, regular check up of patients is also taken into
account and care is being provided to them at large scale.
2.6 Clinical Decision Making
Clinical decision making is defined as contextual, continuous and evolving process where
all the data is gathered, evaluated and interpreted in order to select an evidence – based choice of
action. Clinical decision making helps in ensuring that timely care will be provided to the cancer
patient and helps in informing the decision about the patients care. CDS tools and systems helps
the clinical teams by taking over some time, routine tasks ad providing suggestions for the care
of the patients to be taken in effective manner (Kurasz and et.al., 2021).
CDS helps in achieving the positive patient outcomes as all the tools and systems will be
used by the doctors and team members in taking care of the cancer patient so that they will be
able to know the treatment and the patients will gain positive attitude towards the cure process.
This will also help in knowing that what type of treatment will be provided to cure the cancer
patients so that they cure from the illness. Therefore, CDS will help in taking care of the patient.
