Introduction:
Online gaming is one of the most controversial topics that the world has ever seen.
online game play has become ubiquitous form of entertainment in society .According to
many of the reserhcers, online gaming have some of the most devastating effects in teenagers,
while other queries about same. This paper focuses on the negative effects that it have on
human beings, especially teenagers (Greitemeyer & Mügge, 2014). There have been many
cases where it has been seen that due to long-time gaming many diseases like complete
blindness, nausea. This paper will primary focus on the effects of online gaming in the
human’s physical and mental health.
Negative Effects of Online gaming
Online games is one of a major area in the world of games. The concept of online
gaming first emerged in year of 1970 by introductory game of MUD. Since then people have
been getting addicted to these games worldwide and there are some of the major
consequences of these games. The games are known to have some serious addictive issues
(Prot et al., 2014). There are numerous cases where it has been seen that children’s are
getting so much addicted to these games that they are forgetting everything other than online
games.
It is often seen that playing of the online gaming has become one of a major serious
problem. Parents are often very much worried about their children playing laptop games all
the times and not doing other works. Some of the major problems that many parents face are:
1. It has become a major consent of parents where it is seen that people use
money to buy stuffs of game online (Boxer, Groves & Docherty, 2015). In
children it is very common that they use money without the consent of the
parents for this purpose.
2. Effects the study and the education of people. Gamers often give more time to
playing games, other than studying, effecting the carrier growth of the
individual.
3. Sitting and playing for long duration of time makes one obese which is
becoming one of the major medical problem these days.
4. One of the other major problem is anger, it is often seen that people who play
violent games are often always angered. The games provokes one anger and
make them take violent decision.

5. Affected by deadly games, Blue whale which came in the market in the year
of 2017 took life of many gamers. This game made people take challenges and
complete them by blackmailing them, at the end for the sake of the completion
of the game, many people took the life of the gamers.
Health Problems
Some of the major medical problems that is changing personality of individuals other
than the social and family problems. There are been very much serious issues regarding the
various health orders that are related to the gamers. Some of these are very much severe and
the needs urgent doctor support. Some of the problem occurs due to long time sitting and
playing for prolong hours.
1. Obesity:
Obesity is caused due to prolong sitting in one place and doing no physical
activity and having junk food (Kühn et al., 2018). This is a major
syndrome found in addicted online gamers. This happens due to fact that
gamers tends to sit for a long duration of time and plat games. Other than
this aerated drinks consumption is also high among the gamers this
increases the reasons of obesity.
2. Anxiety Disorders
This is a major disorder that is found in gamers while one plays a game. It
is often seen that people loose temper in while playing these games
(Katsarov et al., 2017). This causes many problems in the families of the
gamers.
3. Social phobia
Social phobia is when one gamer loses interest in society
and people surrounding them. (DeCamp & Ferguson, 2017). People with
social anxiety disorder, everyday interaction in normal human life causes
irritation and embarrassment. This is a major medical conditions and needs
psychological treatments.

Thus concluding the topic it can be said that online gaming can adversely affect the
health of peoples. It generates many disorders in human beings which are known to be fatal.
These gamers not only effects the social life of an individual but also hampers the health and
mental health of gamers. Further there are serious addictive issues that have emerged due to
the online gamers. Hence it can be said that prolong time playing of online games must be
avoided. Steps must be taken by the parents or the heads of the organisations that are making
games
