P2 Produce a project management plan.
A project management plan is an important document that exists in a formal way. It
is basically a formally approved document which is considered by managers whenever they
wish to manage their ongoing projects and help in their successful execution as well. This
document also helps in creating balance of communication between key stakeholders so that
they can easily develop and understand the project (Deresky, 2017). There are a number of
elements present in project management plan such as size, scope, quantity, cost, risk etc.
This document comprises or combines various elements and factors such as description and
development of business activities. In context of Nestle, it has been analysed that managers
will need to consider all these factors so as to maintain effectiveness. Various key elements
of project management plan has been mentioned as under:

effective and successful completion of a given business project. Thus, it is important for
company to effectively recruit and train their workers so that they can expand their business
activities at global level. If company has skilled and talented workforce than they easily
understand the global market trends and activities that may help them in grabbing
opportunities to attain success at global level. Hence in context of Nestle, it has been

estimates and other requirements of a project. It is an easy process which makes activities
and tasks quite manageable. Also there is no specific field of this tool and can be applied in

P4 Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Research methodology
Research is basically done so as to gain information and knowledge about new facts and
figures in any area. It helps in contributing in enhancement of knowledge base and also helps
researchers in lending them an alternative hypothesis (Kendrick, 2015). Whenever a research is
conduct in an appropriate and sound manner it proves a substantial tool for researchers to ensure
free and fair researcher about any given topic. Hence it is quite important that researchers choose
an appropriate method which is free from any kind of bias. There are basically two ways in
which research can be conducted i.e. qualitative and quantitative. Both these methods have
further been discussed as under:

Quantitative research: A quantitative research focusses more on statistical data
analysis and deals in numeric values. Here data and information are generally collected by
questionnaires, surveys and polling through online mediums as well. This helps in
examination of relationship between two different variable and also allows effective
predictions as well ( Roy and Fernandez, 2015). Quantitative research aims at providing
free and fair results over a given subject and also helps in collecting important data and
information within a specified time frame.
Qualitative research: Qualitative research focusses on behavioural aspects of an
individual which further promotes detailed study about a given topic. This is a type of
research tool which further includes thought process of individuals along with reasons
behind their thought process as well. This method helps in drawing inferences. Furthermore,
it is an important tool which helps in data collection as well as data analysis. Various ways
in which qualitative research can be undertaken include interviews, focus groups and
observation study as well.
Primary data: Primary data refers to first hand data or information that is collected for
conducting effective research. It proves quite useful in collecting data and information in
respect of a research topic. Data collected as per this type of medium is fresh and has not
been used in any previous researches (Difference Between Primary and Secondary Data.
2019). Also it provides a quite effective and appropriate information that is free from any
kind of bias. Sources of primary data include questionnaires, interviews, surveys,
observations etc. A disadvantage of this method is that it is relatively expensive as time
consuming as well.
Secondary data: This is a form of data collection that deals with already existing data and
information. This data is generally collected foe some other reasons or prior researches. It is
a comparatively time and cost effective mode of data collection which is comparatively
cheaper as compared to primary data (Nicholas and Steyn, 2017). Also there can be bias or
inappropriate data and information present in these data sources. Methods that can be used
for collecting secondary data involve newspapers, magazines, sales reports etc.
Data collection: Data collection refers to a process that helps in gathering or collecting
information which aims at answering problems that may arise in a research and also finding
solutions for them. In present context, researcher is considering a combination of both
Document Page
primary as well as secondary sources for successful completion of a project. Collection
method is appropriate for data gathering as it will provide the researcher information about
completing this project in an effective manner. In the completion of this project data is
collected through questionnaire method. A survey is conducted for filling this questionnaire.
Questionnaire: Questionnaires refers to a set of questions that are present in a
printed form . It also provides a number of choices for conduction of surveys. It comes
under primary method of data collection which can be present in both qualitative as well as
quantitative form as well (Omri, Frikha and Bouraoui, 2015). It provides a quite reliable as
well as authentic data and information. A sampler size of 20 respondents have been chosen
in this report.
Sampling: It is consider as a process which used for selecting sample size from the
whole population. As it allow investigator to gather relevant and reliable data and information
towards the specific topic and area as well. Mainly, it includes different method random
sampling, stratified and cluster sampling. For this research, investigator use random sampling
method to select respondents from the whole population. By this, researcher select 20 sample
size from the large number of population.
Data analysis method: It is an effective method to analyse the data and information that
help in attaining positive and reliable results within the research. In this context, there are some
data analysis methods such as regression analysis, Chi square, percentage, thematic analysis and
many more. From these methods, researcher may use thematic analysis to analysis the data and
information.
