LO 3
P5 Research Methodology.
Research methodology is a methodology or process which facilitates any organisation in
practising its operations flawlessly and effectively. The implementation of the process of
research methodology involves using various tools and techniques for practising research. It
helps in addressing each question separately and builds a clear understanding for researcher. The
various tools and techniques used are :-
Research Philosophy :- Research Philosophy can be briefly explained as the different modes and
methodologies used for data collection by the researcher. Two main classification of the research
philosophies are :- positivism philosophy and interpretivism. When hypothesis is formulated for
researching the required topic, it is referred to as positivism. interpretivism on the other hand
involves implementation of various theories and models and focuses mainly on qualitative
aspect. Interpretivism depicts facts and tendencies of human beings. In the present report,
interpretivism approach has been used for conducting research. This has facilitated the researcher

in accumulating qualitative data regarding various strategies that Nestle can adopt for
recruitment and selection on international level(Beck, 2018.).
Research Design :- Research design can be implemented in three different categories namely
descriptive research, causal research and exploratory research. For studying the characteristics of
the sample, the research design that should be used is descriptive research. In this report also,
descriptive research has been used to conduct the study and outlining the methods for conducting
such research(Payne, and Askeland, 2016).. This design will facilitate the researcher helping him
to analyse all the elements related to adoption of different strategies for conducting recruitment
at international levels of the Nestle company. This has assisted in conducting research in lieu
with the objectives with which the research is to be carried out(Pieterse, 2019.).
Research Approach :- Under research approach, the researcher has to determine the manner in
which the research has to be conducted. There are two different methods for conducting the
research namely inductive and deductive approach. Deductive approach is used for quantitative
analysis of data where hypothesis id formulated for conducting research activity. Under
inductive method instead of formulation of hypothesis, qualitative models and theories are
implemented. This is used for assisting qualitative research. In this report, the most suitable
approach is inductive approach as the researcher is collecting and analysing facts rather than
figures and hence the researcher has used inductive method.
Data Collection :- Collection of those facts and figures which are required for conducting the
research are the crucial elements in conducting the research successfully which further assist in
formulating the relevant conclusions. The two methods are primary method and secondary
method of data collection. Primary method involves those methods through which the researcher
himself collects all the data using interview or questionnaire method technique. Secondary data
on the other hand involves collection of those facts and figures which have already been
researched and published in books, journals etc. in the present, both secondary and primary data
has been used for collecting the relevant data(Beck, 2018.).
Sampling :- Sampling means selecting those individual out of the entire population which are
relevant in conducting the research successfully. These individuals collectively are referred to as
sample(Beck, 2018.). It is the most crucial part in conducting the research which gives the result
that is required and thus the selection should be relevant and precise. Here, in this report
researcher has used random sampling method for data collection which has removed any
Document Page
biasness on part of the researcher. In this report, the sample size taken is of 20 managers
managing different departments in Nestle. This will help in collecting different view points
regarding recruitment(Payne, and Askeland, 2016). strategies of Nestle.
Data Analysis :- To formulate the relevant conclusions; it is necessary to conduct a systematic
study which involves analysis of all the relevant data after it has been collected by the researcher.
In this report, the researcher for presentation of information in a relevant and required manner,
he has used thematic technique of data analysis. Thematic analysis is basically analysis of the
information by creation of different and relevant themes by breaking down the information
collected in smaller and different parts and then formulating tables and charts for the researcher
so that he can carry out the interpretation in the correct manner and make recommendations.
Ethical Consideration :- For carrying out the research and to achieve the goals stated in the
research objective, the researcher must keep in mind the ethical consideration to be made. For
analysing and identifying the correct strategies that can be used for recruitment and selection at
international levels, the researcher while collecting data must not force the individuals in the
sample size for giving any particular opinion or prioritize one factor or aspect over another. It
also involves declaration from those individuals that they were not manipulated and they
provided the data at their free will ad consent of the researcher.
P6 Finding and recommendations
As from the above report it can be concluded the the nestle has to pay more emphasis in
changing its HR policies so that they can compete in the global world. The company has to take
the overview if its perform and change the strategy of the raining and development for the longer
run. The company has to look after the training and the development strategy so that how they
can improve the working of there efficient employees.
The recruitment department should look after the different qualities for the candidate that
will help them to understand the international market and increase the efficiency of the
organisation.
LO 4
P7 dicuss the learning and the outcome of the the research report.
From the above research report I have come to know how much it is difficult for the
successful organisation like nestle to compete in the the world of the globalisation. In this
research report I have come across the various research design and the evaluation process for the

the different respondent regarding the particular topic. My interpersonal skills also come to be

research report various analysis ha s been done according to what are the demand of the current
global world and how the one person can exceed in this global environment I the longer run. I
have also come to know what were the drawbacks for the nestle top complete in the global
world.
CONCLUSION
After going through the research conducted in above report, it can be concluded that
Nestle needs to expand its recruitment policies at international level. They are presently
conducting research at internal level and their practices are restricted in the UK. For
globalisation of the firm and expanding their activities at an international level, the recruiters
need to train employees at international levels and train them accordingly. This report also
concluded that, for employees and the company to excel at international level, it is necessary for
the HR managers at Nestle to train their employees about inter cultural values and the societal
norms in which they are operating. They should focus on hiring those personnels which can
easily adapt themselves with the changing cultural values and can understand the requirement of
the customers. The lack of adopting international measures for recruitment has hindered the
growth of the company in expansion at international levels so appropriate training should be
given to the employees along with modification in the recruitment process. This report also
emphasized upon the research methodology and the various tools adopted for conducting the
research so that appropriate strategies can be formulated for recruitment and selection strategy at
global level.
