In this paper the discussion will be made on the Nestle Company. It is one of the Swiss
transnational food and drink company with headquarter in Vevey, Vaud Switzerland. The
founder of the company was Henri Nestle and the company was founded in 1866. It has been
examined that it is one of the biggest company on the global platform which is measured by
revenue in 2014(Nestle, 2018a). There will be different parts that will be discussed in this paper
such as performance related initiative, culture related initiative, engagement related initiative and
at the last phase of the paper the discussion will be related with the recommendations.
Performance related initiative
It has been examined that in the company, the performance of the workers has an important role
and it is the duty of the higher authority to manage it. It is important for the organization to
emphasize on bringing change in the performance of the workers so that growth can be attained
in the highly competitive market. Nestle emphasizes on controlling the performance of its
workers by taking into consideration the performance initiative (Nestle, 2018c).It is observed
that to maintain the performance of the employees, one of the initiatives of the organization is
concerned with training and development. Nestle focuses on the training and developing
programs and in the year 2013, the organization spends approximately 200 days in professional,
leadership and commercial training. The company has spent the amount of $750,000 on
professional and leadership training. Nestle considered different raining programs which were
completed I the year 2013 (Nestle, 2018a). The different programs are concerned with the
international training center, everyday coaching, feedback, leadership and mentorship and also of
product development. The programs or the courses helped to maintain the employee’s
performance as it can help in assisting give the best towards the organizational operations. Just
because of the training and development programs taken into consideration by the company
assisted in bringing improvisation in the performance and also it has boosted the confidence level
of the employees towards the assigned activities (Nestle, 2018a).
To enhance the performance of the workers in relation to the allocated task, Nestle emphasizes
on training and development initiatives that have strengthen the overall capabilities for leading,
engaging and also inspiring the workers to achieve positive results. It is necessary to offer
training to the workers so that efficiency can be maintained towards the assigned work. By

there are various initiatives that are taken into consideration by the Nestle Company. Employee
health and wellness is one of the initiatives on which the company has emphasized. It is observed
that the vision and value of the organization is to emphasize on providing the healthy diet and
sporting activities as it assist in enhancing the satisfaction level of the employees towards the
allocated task. Nestle has specified some principle in which it has been analyzed that “a healthy
mind in a healthy body”. The company emphasizes on creating the healthy employees by
boosting the positive culture in the workplace. Nestle also focuses on giving care to the workers
as it can help them to perform better. The feedback chance to the employees is also provided
through which the employees have the chance to give their views and opinions in relation to the
organizational decisions (Nestle, 2018b).
Also, the main focus is on maintaining the flow of communication as it assists the company in
reducing the communication gap in relation to the overall activities performed by the employees.
Proper communication strategy is taken into consideration by Nestle so that motivation level of
the employees can be enhanced. If the workers are positive then it will be simple to maintain the

policy is provided to the employees so that it could be easy to maintain strong bond with the
other line managers and also with the subordinates. In relation to the employees performance the
rewards are offered in the workplace that helps to enhance the involvement level towards the
assigned work. The employees who are dedicated and engaged towards work can easily take the
right decisions in relation to the overall organizational activities. It assists in enhancing the
engagement level of the workers towards the task (Mone & London, 2018).
Motivation is also one of the best techniques that are considered by the organization to boost the
involvement level of the workers in the company. Nestle focuses on enhancing the motivation
by fulfilling the needs of the workers. Also, the rewards and pay is important aspect that can help

By taking into consideration the performance initiative, it is recommended that Nestle should the
goal setting strategy. In relation to this strategy the goals should be set by the higher authority of
their employees that can help to bring improvisation in the performance ratio of the employees in
the company. By fixing the goals in the company, the employee’s performance can be measured
easily. If workers are attaining the monthly goals then they are working according to the
expectation of the company. Therefore, it can be stated that goal setting theory will be beneficial
in enhancing the performance of the company.
By considering the culture initiative it is recommended that employee perks should be provided
by the company in which the best performer of the month should be selected and rewarded a tri.
This can assist in boosting the positive mindset of the workers and also enhance their efficiency
towards the allocated work. The overall culture of the company can be maintained of there is
positivity in the workplace as it assists in enhancing the satisfaction level of the employees
towards task. It can be also said that motivated employees can help to attain organizational
success. In context to the Engagement initiative, it can be recommended that flexibility is
important to be maintained. The employees in the workplace should be free to share their views
and opinion and also top management should emphasize on maintaining trust with the
employees.
