Introduction
The project is made to develop an overview on the management of human resources of
Nestle, which is a leading food company for the development of the employees within the
organization. As the globalization is the driving force of the company, thus, in this project,
how the company is improving themselves for withstanding with the effects of globalization
is described. This company is using the training and learning session for the employees, for
ensuring the continuous development. In this segment, the advantages and impacts of this
training is evaluated and how this is helping in managing human resources of the
organization is described precisely.

Literature review
Globalization is a worldwide phenomenon and proves to have dual affect within
organizations. As per the views of Stone and Deadrick (2015) globalization leads to creation
of diverse workforce as talents are acquired from all around the world. In addition, leniency
in international borders opens up new employment opportunities for skilled workers. Within
any business organization, recruitment and selection forms to be a critical aspect as it leads to
increased employee retention and improves their involvement in fulfilling objectives of the
company. According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, employees should be motivated in
order to gain increased performance and expertise (Collings et al. 2018).
As mentioned by Gorman et al. (2017), appraisals and performance bonus motivates
employees to put forwards their best expertise and gain recognition within organization.
Recruitment and selection also plays a critical role in achieving best talent pools within
organization. Kianto et al. (2017) stated that on the job training improves turnover rate within
organizations, as it leads to continuous professional development of employees. It is
important within multinational companies to hire locals as well as international employees for
analysing demands of the customers and accordingly creating products and services within
globalized scenario. As mentioned by Bratton and Gold (2017) globalization leads to
increased competitiveness within multinational companies, owing to which employer
reputation has to be maintained. According to theory of Human resources, it is important that
employees are recognised of their hard work and are appreciated for their efforts. This leads
to creation of good collaboration between employees and employers and subsequently,

productivity of companies are improved. It has been mentioned by Albrecht et al. (2015), that
human resource policies have to be created in accordance to employment laws of host
nations. This will save the company form additional penalties and lead to hiring of potential
personnel.
Project Aim
The main aim of the project is to identify and analyse various interventions that are applied
by multinational companies such as Nestle for improving recruitment, selection and training
of employees in order to meet international standards.
Project Objectives
The main objectives that the project strives to fulfil include the following:

Planning, Execution, and Closure. As mentioned by Noe et al. (2017), a proper project
management helps in outlining the basic steps that are required within each of the process and
accordingly resources and time can be allotted. In addition, documentation of all steps is
made in a systematic manner and all processes are recorded. Project management also
ensures that risks pertaining to all steps within project are identified. Necessary steps to
reduce the negative impact of risks can be undertaken in due time. This ensures that all steps
are undertaken in accordance to main aims and objectives of project and deliverables are
provided to stakeholders within the stipulated time.

Project Scope
The project scope decides the outcome of the project and determines its usefulness within the
current observable scenario. In this regard, the current project strives to analyse various
recruitment and selection procedures within multinational companies in order to meet up with
the international standards. The current project will enable the project manager to manage
various recruitment problems that might arise within Nestle due to cultural differences in
diverse workforce. In addition, the project will help manager to implement self-confidence

and sense of responsibility within the workforce. The project also finds its scope in
implementing continuous learning and development within workplace in order to achieve
competitive advantage. The current project will also analyse certain recruitment measures
such as in house recruitment and employee referral system for improving quality of selected
candidates within Nestle.

The time duration for the current project will be 2 months. The project will start from 1st
August and end on 31st September. During this duration, various aspects of recruitment and
selection within Nestle will be analysed. In addition, various recommendations for creating
workforce that meets international standards will also be provided through the project.

The project will help in outlining the advantages and disadvantages of various recruitment
and selection procedures that are applicable for multinational companies such as Nestle. In
addition, the projects will also deliver certain recommendations that can be implemented by
Nestle for strengthening their workforce within the globalized scenario and gaining

Methodology
Research Approach
Research approach determined the progress of research and accordingly interpretations can
be made. In this research, both inductive and deductive research methodology has been
applied. As mentioned by McCusker and Gunaydin (2015), inductive research approach
enables the researcher to gather data that will help in interpretation of result. Within this
researcher, information will be gathered and deduction will be made pertaining to selection
and recruitment processes in Nestle. Using the deductive research approach, the researchers
are able to amalgamate observable phenomenon of globalization and accordingly create aims
and objective pertaining to recruitment and selection processes. In addition, deductive
approach helps in correlating the obtained results with observable phenomenon and reaches a
conclusive result.
Research Design
Descriptive research design has been used within this project. As mentioned by Nahum-Shani
et al. (2012), this methodology enables the researcher to study an observable phenomenon
without influencing them. In addition, the data that are collected for the research are used to
describe the social happening and its impact on the subjects. The researcher within the project
have utilised descriptive approach to explain the phenomenon of globalization and
accordingly analyse its impact on recruitment and selection processes. In addition, descriptive
design has enabled the researcher to interpret data and come to conclusion using a limited
number of sample and participants.
Research methodology
Both Qualitative and Quantitative data have been utilised within the research. As per the
views of Papa et al. (2018), qualitative research helps in obtaining views and notions of
participants based upon an observable phenomenon. In this regard, a semi-structured
interview has been conducted. This has enables the researcher to understand the views and
opinions of participants regarding various selection and recruitment methods within Nestle.

Moreover, the impact of globalization and maintaining a sense of responsibility within
workforce were also analysed through interviews. The quantitative research method has
enabled the researcher to obtain data and figures pertaining to recruitment and selection
strategies. A survey has been conducted for analysing opinions of participants. The use of
numerical figures for explaining an observable phenomenon improves the credibility and
validity of the research.
Sampling method
A purposeful sampling method has been initiated by the researcher. In this regard, only the
employees of Nestle from Human resource department were selected for the study. Twelve
employees, working over ten years in Nestle were selected and Two HR managers were
selected for the interview.
Data Collection and analysis
A survey was conducted with 12 participants. Around ten survey questions were asked and
participants were asked the options that presented their views. The survey was conducted for
ten minutes. For qualitative research interview were conducted with two HR managers in
their workplace. The interview was semi-structured and lasted for twenty minutes. All the
responses were recorded in verbatim. The results of survey were analysed through bar
diagrams and graphs created using MS-Excel.
Ethical Considerations
Permission for survey and interviews were collected from all participants. They were notified
of research before fifteen days through E-mails. The identity and specific information of
participants were kept anonymous. All the collected data have been used for research
purposes only. Proper citations and credits have been given to authors of journals and
literature materials.
