Enterprise resource planning is a business process management software that allows a
firm to implement a system made of integrated applications to handle their operations and
automates numerous back office functions that relate to technology, human resources and
services (Themistocleous, Irani, & O’Keefe 2011). Several ERP software vendors exist that
organizations can select depending on their needs and size. Key among these is NetSuite an
ERP software offered by Oracle Company.
NetSuite’s Business Functions
NetSuite supports several business functions including; offering an integrated cloud
based platform of financials/ERP and Omni channel commerce software features. The
software also provides a robust development platform that is easy to customize and integrate
(Oracle NetSuite, 2018). NetSuite’s Suite Commerce allows an organization to control their
interactions with consumers and other business directly via its e-commerce cloud platform.
Moreover, NetSuite CRM+ offers powerful capabilities such as marketing automation, sales
force automation, flexible customization and customer support all in a unified cloud CRM
solution. . The platform is robust in all its integration points including system-to-system such
as ERP to the running HRMS or CRM. Module-to-system, a good example is the ERP
payroll to the users’ existing HRMs and file transfer functionalities. Its flexible integrating
capabilities allows it to work with existing infrastructure.
