Introduction
For connecting and communicating with different devices or different network, we use a networking
concept. In the following documentation, the work which is going to implement first is gathering the
information regarding the amount and networking devices which are going to use for building the
network. We will find out the best networking devices with their model number and the port available in
them. After which we will discuss the design of the network and design the network using draw.io. After
which it will be easy to implement a network using NetSim. The implementation is done after the
documentation of a network. Using draw.io there will be a rough knowledge of the network which will
be implemented.

Project Scope
The scope of the project is to design a network infrastructure for the educational firm where there will
be total 5 different departments and each department has their name which are Manager, Finance,
Front Desk, Guest, and Consultant. After the deployment of this project, only the Manager department
and the Consultant department will be able to access the Finance department. And the finance will not
be able to get access by guest and front desk department. The service like the print server will be
accessed by the entire department. There will be wireless connectivity in each of the department where
there will be connectivity of all the wireless devices to the network. This will reduce the cost of the wire
and configuration in the network.
Project Requirements
The required devices for designing of this network include many of the devices which all have been
listed below in a tabular form.
Device Series Required Port
1. Router 2800 1 10
2. Switch 2900 5 24
3. Multi-Port Switch 3500 1 24
4. Printer 1100 5 1
5. Computer 5500 100 1
The following above networking devices are required for designing and implementing the required
network. The main focus is on the server which is also required for the organization to get implement it
for services like mail services, web services, DNS, DHCP and more. These services need to be configured
in an organization for the better performance of it. We are going to configure DHCP on the server so
that all the connected devices will get the address of IP automatically without any assistant of the user.
We will also configure DNS and Mail server for the communication in the organization in a better way
[1].
Network Design
Using draw.io, we have designed the network infrastructure for the educational firm. This has been
done befor3e so that the implementation of the network will be easy. The below figure defines the
design of the network:

Figure 1: Network Design
In the above figure, we have taken use of a router through which a multi-port switch has been
connected. And all the normal switch are connected with the multi-port switch so that if there will be
any changes in the multiport switch, then all the changes will be notified to the normal switch. For
example, if we create VLAN for each of the interfaces, then the entire connected switch will get to know
about that VLAN which has been created [2]. We have connected a server using the multi-port switch as
we have to configure a print server for each of the department we have taken the server where we will
configure the Print server onto it. We are going to configure DHCP as well as DNS on the given server
which will help the organization to work better. Each of the department supports an Access point which
will help the users to connect their wireless devices onto it. The access point has been configured in
each of the department separately. This will reduce the cost of the wired network for connecting
different devices in a network. All the departments are separately differentiated with VLAN. Each of the
department has assigned to different VLAN. This will let the users do not communicate with each other.
There will be inter VLAN configuration in between the department which needs to be accessed each
other data. We will create different VLAN for a different department. We will assign the department to
one VLAN which needs to communicate with each other. The finance department will be accessed by
the Manager and Consultant then all three will be assigned to a single VLAN and the rest to other VLAN.
These will secure the communication in the network [3].

IP Addresses
The given addresses for each of the connected devices have been shown in the below table:
Device IP Address Subnet Mask
1. Router 10.0.0.1 255.0.0.0
2. DNS Server 10.0.0.2 255.0.0.0
3. DHCP 10.0.0.2 255.0.0.0
4. Web Server 10.0.0.2 255.0.0.0
5. File Server 10.0.0.2 255.0.0.0
6. Print Server 10.0.0.2 255.0.0.0
7. Finance 10.0.0.30 255.0.0.0
8. Front Desk 10.0.0.60 255.0.0.0
9. Guest 10.0.0.90 255.0.0.0
10. Consultant 10.0.0.30 255.0.0.0
11. Manager 10.0.0.75 255.0.0.0
As we can see in the above t6able that the IP address for all the services of the server is the same
because we have taken use of a single server where we have configured all the different services. Hence
the addresses for each service are same as 10.0.0.2 with the subnet mask of 25.0.0.0. The entire
different department has been assigned the address starting from 10.0.0.30. While configuring DHCP,
we have excluded the address till 10.0.0.29. So the address is getting started for the systems connected
in the network are 10.0.0.30. The numbers of the computer which are connected to the network will get
the IP address automatically. There will be no need to insert the address to each of the devices which
will be connected to the network [4].

Conclusion
We have discussed the different types of networking devices which has been use3d in the given
network. We have also go through the model and the available port in the devices. After which we have
planned the network and design the network using draw.io. After the designing phase we have
discussed the range of the IP address which will be assigned to the network> we have taken use3 of
Class A network. We have al; so configured different services for the educational firm which will be used
for a reliable and secure network for the organization.
