2. Project Requirement:
As per the requirement of project this Network needs to have below devices:
Cisco Router
Cisco Wireless Router
BOYD device
Personal computer
Printer
Cables
Physical Server
Cisco Switch
These hardware would cost Approx: 5500-6000$
Project requires connectivity between five different networks of company. These five different networks
are Customer Service Area, Human Resources, Damage and Claim Section, Finance, Management and
Employees. As per the requirement of the project only Manager has access to finance department.
All departments have facility of printer and there would be a wireless router in the organization so
Customer and guest can connect to this wireless connection of the company. And the very important
thing is that internet access is denied for Finance department.

The network has been designed to fulfill all these requirements also IP
addressing has been done accordingly. So the network designing part is as
below.
3. Network Design:

As shown in the above figure all five networks have been separated for 5
different departments. To separate all these departments, 5 switches are
required. Each department has their own switch also each department has
printer as per the requirement.
These 5 switches are connected to each other through cross cable.

Detailed connectivity is explained below:
Firstly finance department has a switch. Computers and printer of this
department are connected to this switch. This switch is connected to D&C
department's switch. D&C department also has printer and computers which
are connected to its switch and this switch is directly connected to
Management and Employees department's switch. Personal computers and
printer are connected to this switch. A physical server is also connected to this
switch. This switch is directly connected to Customer Service's department.
This department has personal computers and printer connected to its switch.
Now comes back to Finance switch, Finance switch is directly connected to
Multilayer Switch. This multilayer switch is directly connected to organizations
edge Router. Multilayer switch is responsible for the intercommunication
between all the departments. This multilayer switch is also responsible to
separate all five networks.
As the security device of Cisco packet tracer has limited commands and bags
so we have skipped the firewall and we have configured the security
mechanism on this multilayer switch. So this Multilayer Switch will act as a
security device for this organization.
Edge router of organization is directly connected to the ISP router from which
internet is working. Also the Edge Router is directly connected to the wireless
router to provide the wireless connection to the laptop and mobile users.
So this is all, how network has designed to fulfill all the requirements of
Finance company.

5. Network Topology:
Hybrid topology is used while fulfilling the requirements of organization. Switch, Router, Multilayer
Switch Personal Computer, Printer, Wireless Router are configured as per the requirement. Below are
the detailed configurations of each device.

Figure 2 shows the DHCP configuration which will allow PC to get IPs from Core-Switch. Default Gateway
is configured for all the 5 VLANs as well. Also in case of scalability, no issue would be reported as enough
IPs would be there.

IP address has been given to all the virtual interfaces of switch for the best communication in
organization. All the PCs will get IP from there respected VLAN ID.
Router Configuration:

Routing has been done on router for the best packet flow without any attenuation & packet drop.
Router maintains routes in its routing table. When packet comes to router, It will check for the best
route in its routing table & forwards the packet accordingly. Also Natting has been done so Internet
would be accessible via this Router. Local IPs can’t travel to Internet so natting concept will allow local
IPs to make connection with Public IP. And public IP will take request from local IP and travel to internet
to fulfill it.

These configurations show the connection for the SSID through which Users will get connected. Wireless
connection is secured with WPA2-PSK using AES Encryption. User need to connect with SSID
“OfficeNetwork” using password “12345678”.

Server configuration shows that user can use this File Server for their data.
Data would be saved in this File Server. A user has been created with all the
permissions to do this using a password”123456”.

This configuration applies the security in organization. Also it will limit the communication within the
organization. Screenshots are attached which shows the communication between the department and
internet. Also routes have been configured so that no outer communication will happen due to this. It
will create intranet communication only which will automatically denied the outside attacks as well.
