AI Summary
This project outlines a comprehensive network design proposal for a casino, detailing the hardware requirements, network configurations, and the overall infrastructure needed to support efficient data transmission across multiple floors. The proposal includes specifications for network devices, server configurations, and the use of simulation tools like NetSim to model the network. The document serves as a guide for establishing a robust network that meets the operational needs of the casino.

Executive Summary
The network design and the hardware requirements are being analysed in order to set up a
wide network infrastructure for the Casino. The network design requirements are then
identified as per their campus structure and thereby analyzation has been carried out for
Casino inter network connection.

1. Introduction
The project is based on the network design for the Casino. The casino has 5 floors and that is
including the ground floor. The ground floor has comprised of a lobby area. Each of the
floors also has a lobby area. The Casino infrastructure comprises of 40 rooms in each floor.
Each of the room is going to have a network point to which the guest PC is connected. The
casino network has two servers which are used by the staff. A high speed internet
connection is available which is to be shared by the guest and staff network. There is a total
of 25 staff working in the casino based at the ground floor.
2. Project Scope
The aim of the project is to design a network for a casino. The scope of the project is to
provide the data connection and establish a network with efficient data transmission.
3. Project hardware requirements
Type of the cables
The 3 basic choice of the network cables are
1. Twisted pair
2. Co-axial
3. Optical fibre

The co-axial cable has 4 parts, they are insulation, ground, insultion layer 2 and main wire
[1].
3.1 Name of the network device with manufacturer’s name, series, model and ports
The thin co-axial category has a variety of cable types:
RG-59/U – Video connections with low power
RG-58 A/U – Standard wire core for radio communication and the thin Ethernet
RG-6 – This is used in the cable tv and modems of the cable [3].
Figure : Optical Cable
The optical cable typically consists of Core, inner cladding and the outer cladding. It has two
types namely the multi fibre and the single fibre [2].
Media Connectors
These connectors are used to connect the different media devices.

4. Network device configurations
The network plan for the given conditions is shown above. Here the ground floor is having
27 PC, they are associated with the 25 staff members and the 2 servers. There are five floors
in the network of which each floor is 40 rooms.

Figure: Ground floor plan
The ground floor has 2 servers to which each server has a switch. Then these 2 servers and 2
switches were connected to the Router. The router on the ground floor is connected to the
25 PCs in the ground floor and the router in the first floor.
PC configuration
Brand name: Dell
Processor brand: Intel
Speed of the Processor: 3.7 GHz
Memory model type: DDR SDRAM
RAM: 4 GB
Hard disk: 1TB
Server Configurations
The server configuration of the network system varied from no of people using the network.
The data traffic must be analysed before installing the system [5]. The suggested server
configuration for our system is RN2 10 SERIES MEDIA HUB. Processor of 1.2 Ghz with 512GB
RAM on board, for the swift rate of the data transfer. These are the modern day
configurations of the servers, for the best performance [4].

RAID technology is used for the data protection and data integration without redundancy.
All the files are integrated and protected automatically from the media degradation.

5. Network Design in Netsim
The NetSim is a network simulator and also a network emulator. It is used for the design of
the networks for various applications like research and development, medicine, defence.
The NetSim Professional is a model of NetSim, which is a network simulator for various
simulators and for various protocols modelling in various areas for the high flexibility and
the higher power [6]. The services like click drop of links and applications also present. The
priority settings can be done with a click. The parameters can be edited in a layer wise.
Automatic verification is used in the modelling of large networks.
A. Switch configuration
- Set hostname: Casino
- Clock: Mar 2016 5:45 pm
- Version of IOS: IOS version 12.2(33)SXI8
Figure: IOD Modes
The display of 6 IOS modes is shown. The modes are described below. Mode: User EXEC,
allows to connect the devices and extract the information. This is prompted by the Router >.
This is the default mode after the booting. The system has to be configured after the login
with the passwords [2]. The EXIT command is used to exit.

B. Router configuration
- Set hostname: Casino Family
- Clock : May 2017 1:45 pm
- Version of IOS: IOS version15.1 (4)M4

Conclusion
A complete network structure has been designed for the Casino. The services computer
network plays an important role inside Casino to access the information necessary to
maintain the connecting operation. For interconnectivity of components within the campus
a network topology is adapted to maintain the interconnection in Casino in between
arrangement of computers, cables and other component.
