Network Implementation
 The process of implementing the network infrastructure of the financial
and Insurance firm involves setting up the network according to the
design using packet tracer.
 This involves demonstrating wired connections with the network
equipment and devices among various departments of the firm as well
as wireless communication and connection with ISP.
 Additionally the network needs to demonstrate connections to database
server, Ethernet printer and LAN connection between the departments.

Scope of Network
 The network connection acquired through the ISPs is screened through a
firewall device before reaching switches of respective departments.
 The intention of placing the firewall here is to manage network connections
in the LAN network consisting of the five departments [1].
 Only the Manager from Management and Employees is to be able to
connect with the finance department which should not have internet
access.
 Therefore network connection should be configured but internet services
and communication of other departments should be blocked by the firewall
 Wireless communications should be available through a separate network
using a wireless router

for devices of all the five
departments and the interfaces of
the routers [3].
The major network chosen for the
subnet calculation is
172.16.121.0/24
The IP addressing method used for
the following IP addressing is
Classless Inter-domain Routing
(CIDR) [2].
CIDR is chosen against classful IP
addressing scheme for efficient
allocation of IPs.

Conclusion
 The presentation identifies the requirements and successfully provides
the solutions for the network layout of the financial and insurance firm.
 The network is implemented using Packet Tracer and the IP addresses
for the respective devices and network equipment are configured.
 The IP address allocation process also gets explained along with the IP
addressing method used.
