Business Requirement
In the recent times a large number of organization are looking to upgrade their
technological aspects of their company to keep up with the competition in the market and stay
ahead of their competitors. MyAdobe is one such organization and they are looking to upgrade
their hardware and software resources continuously to meet the needs of the clients. I am the IT
administrator working for a service organization. The business manager of the company has
entrusted me with the task of upgrading the networking infrastructure of the company.
Company Background
MyAdobe is company base in Melbourne that deals with the mortgage-broking and is in
to the real estate businesses. The company presently have group of 10 full time staffs in the
office and also has a connection to 15 independent mobile users. The company represents
various major lenders and currently have invested in the custom software packages. The main
head office of the company is connected through a local area network that provides the staffs the
option to share information among themselves and communicate freely. The current network of
the company also has a wireless access for the mobile users. The network makes use of the
Windows sever 2008 currently.

Business Needs:
What are your current business needs and strategies that you need to support?
The basic area in the business of the company that needs support is the technical
department so the company can reduce the response time for the clients. In addition to this, the
security aspect for the organization also requires reformations.
What are some of the problems you are having or foresee in meeting these business needs or
supporting these strategies?
The main problems for the company exists in the network layout. The network setup of
the company makes use of the LAN structure and all the devices in the network are connected to
a single multiport switch which spreads the connection throughout the network. In addition to
this, the network currently has no security implemented in it. Hence, the network would be
vulnerable to the security breaches.

What other information or data exists that provides information about these business needs or
problems?
There are 10 users directly connected to the network and 15 additional mobile users
connected to the network. Hence, there are no access control defined within the system. In
addition to this, the data store is connected to the system of the CEO and this can be huge
problem for the network.
What types of things or measures would tell you that you are being successful?
Being able to address the issues with the security would the top priority for the company
and the IT department to address.
What is happening in your business that shouldn’t be happening?
The business is not using any secure connection and also the response time for the clients
are to be reduced that would improve the customer satisfaction.
What things or activities must be done to accomplish your goals or business needs?
For the accomplishment of the business goals the security of the network is to be
improved and a better solution for the company is to be developed. In addition to this,
operational cost for the company were to be minimized.
If all of these were done, what is the probability of success? Is this OK? If not, what other
activities need accomplished?
There is huge probability of success for the company once all of this were accomplished
and the customer satisfaction would also increase to a large extent.

The two major key requirements for the network are:
 Increased security and access control within the network
 Reduction of the response time for the clients and also minimization of the operational
costs for the company.

The major key requirements can be summarized as the following:
The company is looking to leverage the technical expertise and resources that are already
existing the company, reduce the response time for the clients, reduce the operational costs and
increase protection and ensure the safety of data of the clients and the company.

Justification
Based on the requirements of the company the above solution have been developed. The
solution would be able to address all the major issues of the company. Most important the issues
with the security and the operational costs would be resolves largely. Firstly, a firewall is
implemented in the network. It protect the network from all the major security concern such as
malware attacks and external intrusion for the company. In addition to this, a cloud solution is
developed for the company. This would reduce the overall cost for the company and also reduce
the time for response to the clients. The access control for the network is also set up using a
database server used for the storage of local data for the company. The CEO would act as the
admin and the access control and permission for the data would be granted by the CEO. This
would set up the security of the company effectively.
Recommendation
For the network designed for the company the following recommendations are provided:
 Monitoring and Maintenance: It is very important that the network is monitored
regularly and whole system is up to date. This will diminish any type of lagging in the
procedures carried out in the network.
 Use of Windows Server 2012: It is recommended that the company replaces the old
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with the new Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2. This
would provide a greater amount of option for the network. This would also enable a
greater integration with the cloud solutions for the company.
