Internetworking with TCP/IP Report

This report details the design of a network infrastructure for a six-building M2M organization. The design utilizes Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and access points to connect the buildings, each with a specified number of workstations and wireless connections. The report addresses the need for a network analyzer tool, recommending Wireshark to improve troubleshooting and network efficiency. It compares Wireshark to other network analyzer tools like NAST, Zenmap, and Angry IP Scanner, highlighting Wireshark's superior features and capabilities. The report concludes by advocating for the adoption of Wireshark within the M2M organization to enhance network security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Executive Summary
The proposed network infrastructure offers the high security and productivity. To reduce the
network issues in the organisation and promote the high quality network we introduce Micro
soft Visio professionals. In case of some trouble shooting problem by using network analyser
tools because wire shark provides effective network. The organisation analyse the network
analyser tools for the purpose of providing information to the organization board. The
organization teams are provide the information about the network analyser tool features,
recommendation, benefits and how it support the proposed network infrastructure. The six
building in M2M organization network infrastructures uses router to connects with each
other. Where proposed network infrastructure has the wireless connections to connect the
every building. The network design provides the M2M organization network security and
productivity and provides the scalability and flexibility of the network. By using the Cisco
network devices to reduce the operational costs. We implement latest analyser tool called
wire shark which is used to trouble shoot the problem in network and made the network
scalable and effective.

Part – 1
1.1 Introduction
The M2M organization has the six building. These six building are not connected with
each other. So the organization has the network issues and to reduce the network issues by
creating the network infrastructure. The network infrastructure is connecting with the each
building by using the router. The Router provides the high efficiency network and the
proposed network infrastructure provides the high security and productivity where the
network design is created by using the Micro soft Visio professional’s. The network design
using the Cisco product to reduce the operational costs and the network components will be
analysed. Each building IP addresses will be identified. The Network infrastructure
sometimes has the trouble shooting problems, to reduce this problem by using the network
analyser tool. so we proposed the latest network analyser tool called wire shark. But the
current M2M organization policy does not allow the network analyser tools, because the wire
shark provides the effective network. So the organization team interest to using the network
analyser tool. The organization team has analysed the network analyser tools to provide the
information to the organization board. Even, it also provides the information about the
network analyser tool features, recommendation, benefits and how it supports the proposed
network infrastructure. The network design and wire shark network tools are will be
discussed (Bullock & Gordon, n.d.).

1.2 M2M Organization Network Infrastructure
The M2M organization network infrastructure is shown below (Callahan, n.d.).
The above network infrastructure displays the M2M organization network design. The
M2M organization network infrastructure contains the six building. Six building are finance
office, transport office, research office, sales office, information technology office and head
office. These are connected with router. Each building contains the work stations and
wireless connections. The finance office contains the 260 workstations, head office contains
the 60 work stations, research office contains the 120 workstation, information technology
office contains the 520 workstation and sales office contains the 40 work stations (Chappell,
2012). The Proposed network infrastructure has the wireless connections to connect with the
every building. The network design provides the M2M organization network security and
productivity and it also provides the scalability and flexibility of the network. The Network
infrastructure sometime has the trouble shooting problems, so reduce this problem by using
the network analyser tool. The Network infrastructure use Cisco network devices to reduce
the operational costs. The Proposed network infrastructure uses the following network
components. These are,

The network design provides the effective network for a M2M organization. It also
reduces the costs. The Cisco network devices support the medium size organization ("Five

IP address for the each building is given below.
For Finance office – 10.0.0.1
For Transport office – 10.0.0.2
For Research office – 10.0.0.3

For Information technology – 10.0.0.5
For Head office – 10.0.0.6
In each building, IP addressing provides the 1024 hosts per network (Kumar &
Yadav, 2016).
Part – B
The M2M organization policies do not allow the network analyser tool for the network.
The organization team members are interested into using the network analyser tool to reduce
the trouble shooting problems (Merino, 2013). So team members are analyse and collect the
information about the network analyser tools to provide the information to the organization
board. The network analyser is a collection of programming and software. These can be

installed on computer to enhance the network protection from the malicious activity. It easily
analysis the network traffic and it used to determine what happens on the network.
2.1 Network Analyzer Role
The team members are analysing the network analyser tools and team members are
decided to using the network analyser tool that is wire shark. The wire shark is used to
provide the effective and scalability of the network. It easily reduces the trouble shooting
problems in the network (Mishra, n.d.). The wire shark network tool is latest and best tools to
analysing the network traffic. The network analyser is used to provide the detailed
information for current and recent activity on the network. It easily detects the network traffic
on the network and it monitors the network bandwidth utilization. It defines the rules and
conventions for network communication. It prevents the cyber-crime from the network
intrusion detection. Most of the organization using the black box approach to reduce the
trouble shooting problems. But it does not provide the effective network. So reduce these
problems to using the wire shark network analyser and it provides the high efficiency of the
network. It uses the network protocols and these are designed to provide the security (Nath,
n.d.).

The wire shark is most powerful network protocol analyser (Sanders, n.d.).

2.3 Purpose

 The captured data are read form FDDI, Token Ting, USB, Bluetooth, ATM, IEEE
802.11, Frame relay and PPP/HDLC.

transmission.
 It easily exports the output to plain text, CSV, PostScript and XML.

NAST
NAST stands for Network Analyzer Sniffer Tool. This tool is used to capture the network
traffic. It has following features. These are,
 It easily determines the LAN internet gateways.
 It discovers the promiscuous nodes.
 It performs the single half open port scanner and multi half open port scanner.
 It easily finds the link type that is switch and hub.
Zen map
It is one of the network analyser tools. It is the official GUI for the Nmap security scanner. It
supports the windows, Linux, BSD and Mac. It helps to manage the service upgrade
schedules. It monitors the host and service up time. It has the various features. These are
listed below.

2.2 Recommendations
The M2M organization team members are decided to using the network analyser tool
that is wireshark. The wireshark is a network and protocol analyser in a network. It is most
powerful network analyser tool. The team members are collected the information about the
wireshark network analyser tool. This information are produced to the organization board.
The wireshark network analyser tool support the proposed network infrastructure. It easily
detects the network traffic on the network. It reduces the network issues that are trouble
shooting problems in the M2M organization network. The Proposed network infrastructure
using the wireshark to reduce the business costs and provides the high efficiency of the
network. It also provides the effective and availability of the network ("Wireshark makes
locating bandwidth issues easy", 2017).
