Introduction
OpManager helps a user for performing and monitoring all storage gadgets with the help of storage
monitoring add-on facility. One can monitor his or her RAID as well as Tape Libraries. It also helps to get
some forecasts on the use of the storage space as well as manage the FC switches proactively [1].
OpManager enjoys a huge popularity in the field of computer networks. It was recognized as a May 2019
Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Network Performance Monitoring and Diagnostics Software. It
bagged Network Management as well as Monitor Vendor Award 2019 and 2018 Gartner NPMD Magic
Quadrant. OpManager secured second position in the Infotech Research Software Reviews Data Quadrant
2018.
In this report, network performance management with related to the OpManager is discussed [2].
This report elaborates regarding the importance of OpManager in network monitoring and network
monitoring as well as troubleshooting process are discussed. All these points are discussed by reviewing
some relevant literature.
Network Performance Management by OpManager
According to Mega Paramita and Nurul Farar (2020), analysis of performance availability of the
systems is very important for improving the network performance. It is happened because of developed
services used by the consumers. As per Kikude (2019,), OpManager is an exact tool for the purpose of
observing of computer network of an organisation. It is totally loaded with powerful characteristics that is
enabled with Information Technology administrators for resolving the networking related issues quickly and
takes preventive measures of the network. OpManager keeps the entire tab into the network devices
performance which involves the performance of the server, switch and router. It is used to ensure that they
are available all the time.
Reason for perfect fitting of OpManager
According to Paramita and Fajar (2020), OpManager performs the mapping with the Active Directory
Monitors to the related servers and performs the monitoring of the AD environment for managing the
performance and availability. With the help of OpManager, a user can perform some critical actions across
remote locations using OpManager [1]. According to Sharma and Tripathi (2020), the capacity of servers is
very important for the delivery of successful application. OpManager has the ability to monitor the running
procedures. It is observed their utilization procedures. It also ensures that limit of the capacity are not hit. It
has one stop control alarm facility which allows the OpManager to manage the fault across the servers,

network gadgets, bandwidth, switches and configuration very easily. It also has integrated configuration of
the change management module which helps the user to fix the issues of the networks instantly with the
help of a click of the button.
According to Kikude (2020), periodical discovery helps the user to add various gadgets automatically
that are newly deployed within the network. The rule engine allows the user to perform association to the
monitors, notification profiles and automatically based device types. In OpManager, there is a quick
configuration facility. Quick configuration wizard helps the user to take configuration actions such as
managing devices, suppressing alarms and many others [4]. OpManager set up installs a single database with
backup and upgrade facility which is covered under single license facility. It is used to reduce the
maintenance of the footprint. It is also responsible to integrate all the network management modules into
single modules. The integrated reports of the OpManager help to pull the performance reports across
various modules in faster rate. It is applied for identifying the root cause.

According to Kikude (2020), monitoring networks helps the IT administrators to keep their focus on
the problems that may occur. OpManager helps the IT administrators to resolve the issues related to the
network. Analysis of main cause of the network is toughest problems [5]. It helps the IT administrators to
ingrate through the entire network. In this OpManager plays a vital contribution. It helps to detect the root

cause of network troubleshooting procedures. In case of identification, errors occur either from the network
devices or from the network itself. Some common errors are:
Hardware performance error
Configuration error
Bandwidth error
WAN error
OpManager helps to resolve these issues very efficiently.
There are many disadvantages of OpManager. But these researcher papers do not discuss regarding
this point.
