I. INTRODUCTION
Setting up a business is easy but to manage
the issues can be very challenging especially if it is
exposed to online presence. The computer networks
established by every enterprise can must be
monitored continuously, as every network is prone to
errors. It should not happen that because of the
network issues they might be losing potential users.
Therefore, it is important to minimize and manage the
faults and to troubleshoot them. Hence, integrated
software such as ManageEngine OpManager will
manage the entire network into a single exe [1]. The
improvement of network and performances is an
important aspect to keep the business at the top of
the leading industries.

opportunity to resolve any network outrages instantly
and controls the further disruptions. The outstanding
features of OpManager is so powerful that it
proactively recognizes any issues pertaining in the
connection. Thus, the features can be summed up as:
Monitoring the network devices.
Gives clear understanding of network traffics.
Troubleshoots problems occurring in WAN.
Troubleshoots and monitor the performance
of VoIP.
Changes the network automatically.
Helps in Network mapping
Provides NCM module
Provides Server monitoring
Gives Deployment
The ManageEngine OpManager is a tool that
is very easy to handle and affordable. The continuous
network monitoring helps in delivering the in-depth
visibility and securing the network [8]. It helps in
analyzing the real and root cause behind energy
errors and fault and then tends to eradicate it with
the help of its specialized features. Due to increasing
complex networks within an enterprise, a robust
monitoring solution like OpManager helps in
presenting a comprehensive solution to the problem.

III. APPLICATIONS OF MANAGEENGINE OPMANAGER
It is a well-known fact that every business
enterprise uses complicated infrastructures in order
to cope with the business needs. The use of servers,
databases, URL’s are common. Hence it is important
to ensure the proper working of those applications.
Since there can be high probability of production
issues, therefore complete and proper visibility over
the network is mandatory. The OpManager helps the
same [4]. There can be ample number of benefits
associated with such tools. There are several
applications and benefits associate with
ManageEngine OpManager. Some includes:
It serves as an efficient tool for IT.
Does not requires complex maintenance
It provides its service of monitoring as soon as
the software is installed in the system by its
quick and easy setup.
Effectively resolves any fault in the network
by eliminating the root cause of the problem
It is less costly and affordable.
Monitors the in depth performance.
Efficiently manages the IP address and switch
port.
Minimizes and ignores down time by
optimizing the resources [9].
Increases employee’s productivity.
A. Real-time availabilty monitor
Real time monitor of networking gives an
instant reaction to any unauthorized event. The real
time monitoring is used especially in IT and
manufacturing industries to provide information and
to give warning if any fault is to be occurred. The
ManageEngine OpManager provides constant updates
about the efficient working of the network devices
[10]. There are types of real-time availability
monitoring services:
1. Device: This availability monitoring constantly
monitors the whole network and pings the
devices after every two minute. If the devices
does not reply then it is considered to be
unavailable.
2. Interface: It provides the report of number of
interfaces available on daily, weekly and
monthly basis. The port status is then
transferred to the multi facets.
3. Service: this helps in providing all kinds of
reports and graphs for the availability of TCP
servers that is being monitored.
4. Website: the OpManger also monitors the
website and the sites, URL’s, HTTP and checks
the content of the website.
5. Process: with the help of different protocols
the OpManager monitors the various process
that is running on the windows.
6. Windows: the OpManagers performs
windows monitoring by using WMI. It
automatically configures and restarts the
system if any server hack occurs.

network. It also gives a way to manage and improve
the security with the help of manual or automated
tools. It helps to check for any hostile or malicious
packets within the traffic [11]. The hackers uses
network traffic analysis to hack and gain sensitive
information of the enterprise through the network.
Hence the monitoring of network traffic is essential to
ensure the safety of the network. Certain tools such
as the ManageEngine OpManager will help to analyze
the network traffic and reduce the risk of security
breach of the network [12]. It has been successfully
enhancing numerous networks by analyzing the
network bandwidth. It gathers the report about
whoever is using the network and traffic patterns. It
facilitates bandwidth monitoring providing in depth
knowledge of the traffic and fixes any issue in the
network bandwidth. If there is excessive and strange
usage of a network, then it may implies the possibility
of network attack. Hence the traffic analysis will
potentially identify such issues and prevent any
attacks within the enterprise network [5]. With the
help of traffic analysis it can be easy to engineer the
network and providing future scopes of shaping the
network.
IV. MANAGEENGINEOPMANAGER AND ZABBIX
A. Similarity:
Zabbix and OpManager are used as a
tool to monitor network.
Both the tool can be used by small
medium and large business enterprises.
Both facilitates the technology of
email, training, tickets and phone.
B. Differences:
OpManager is ranked in 17th place of
the network monitor software with 6 reviews
whereas Zabbix is ranked 1st with 23 reviews.
Zabbix has satisfied 97% of its users
whereas OpManager satisfies 95% of its users.
Zabbix has got 9.4 rating whereas
OpManager has got 8.8 rating score by the
customer [6].
Zabbix Supports two languages:
English and Japanese but OpManager
supports only English language.
The prominent client of Zabbix
includes ChinanetCloud and
Bodybukiding.com whereas the prominent
clients of OpManager includes NASA, DHL and
Siemens.
Zabbix integrates applications such as
CkoudMonix, BigPanda, CoreStack and
Flowdock. Whereas SAP, ORACLE, Tomcat and
Jboss are integrated by OpManager.
Zabbix can run only on web-based
devices but OpManager can run on web
based as well as windows, Linux, IPhone and
android devices.
V. CONCLUSION
Therefore lastly to conclude with the paper also
depicts various shortcomings of OpManager. Though
it has remarkable features still nit encompasses some
drawbacks within itself. It does not provide data
migration to third party and the interface used is hard
the security with the help of manual or automated
