3NETWORK REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS AND PLAN
1. Introduction:
The designing of a huge broad network is a difficult job whatever is the size of the network.
This is helpful to meet various current trends in IT and requirements of current business.
In this study, different initiates undertaken by “National Broadband Plan” at the Australian
nation are discussed. Further, a list is provided showing the nations having the least broadband
access connections. In the current case, the digital divide in Australia has been analyzed. Then the
various advantages related to large broadband access connections are also analyzed.
2. Initiatives of national broadband infrastructure:
Various methods are undertaken by the government of several nations, for using their
investments about infrastructures. This has been stimulating to their economy. It has offered
different impacts as per as investment is concerned. This has comprised of various economic and
social benefits regarding telecoms, environments, energy, education, healthcare and media and many
more [6]. Here, different backbone networks and different solutions have been provided by the
“National Infrastructures”. They are based on fibers and comprised of various wireless elements
occurring rural art areas and large cities. Some of the initiatives are “Australia- Data Analytics”,
“Fixed Wireless and Satellite Networks”, “FTTN and VDSL”, “FTTP, FTTB rollouts”, “FTTN and
VDSL”, “FTTP, FTTB rollouts”, “The NBN Company” under “National Broadband Network”.
There have been various developments of efficient broadband infrastructures that have universal
access that is needed to be developed [3]. This has helped different end-users around geographic
sectors. Further, it has been much expensive and complex. The main factor of success for those
strategies has included funding plan and procurement. Here, strong coordination and cooperation
have occurred among regulatory bodies and various governments. It has included a comprehensive

and clear plan that possess ROI and Return on Investment and different milestones. Apart from this,
it has involved different political visions [10].
3. The current status of Australian NBN or National Broadband Plan (NBN):
National Broadband Plan has put in place different efficient measures and given birth to
competition. This has provided the minimizing of costs for various participants under the plan. The
homeowners and developers are charged with the cost of infrastructures under those new housing
buildings. It is a predominant infrastructure and developed a smart network-based service at various
sectors. Different businesses, education and healthcare, are also involved in this area. These areas are
useful to create specific models of new businesses [1]. Examples of this can be seen at retail, ICT
and infrastructure. Apart from this, different other entertains applications and media have also been
playing a crucial part. Instances of these are the FTTP connections at 20% of premises. Another
example of this is 38% served by FTTN. Apart from this, it has operated its services by DOCSIS31,
that has delivered data at 1 Gb/s. It has also included the services aggregated in a wholesale manner.
Apart they have searched for various developments of cable development comprising of “Full-
Duplex DOCSIS” Structure. They have also comprised of up to 10 Gbps symmetrical speeds. Apart
from this, there is the “Fibre-to-the-Curb” that has been deployed up to the footprint across
numerous premises all over the country [9].
4. “Digital Divide” in Australia:
At the current age, large investments are taking place in the nation from the side of “National
Broadband Network”. Despite this, Australia has faced no change in digital divide in the country.
Moreover, many people have been using the Internet in Australia that has been rising [3]. The main
parameters lying here have been digital inequality in the country that continued to define access and

usage of resources that includes income, geography, age and education. Besides, it is also found that
about 2.5 million have not been using the Internet. Again about 1.5 million of the households have
not been connected [4].
5. List of various nations that have the lowest broadband:
These are illustrated below through the following table.
Countries Rate of broadband access
per month in US dollars
Discussion
Ukraine US$3.27 Ukraine is the hub of many online
freelancers.
Venezuela US$3.92 Venezuela has witnessed many electricity
blackouts.
Russia US$6.37 Connections have been taking place
without any privacy.
Romania US$8.38 The broadband access is very cheap
compared to the present global scenario.
Belarus US$9.40 The rate has been very cheap compared to
Western countries.
6. Advantages of having high broadband access connections:
Broadband has a high capacity to receive and send information. It has also been proposing
the information that is received and set quicker from and towards the computers. It has helped in
accessing Internet quickly and browsing the web more effectively, receiving and sending emails very
fast and faster download of files [7]. Here the users have needed moving the process to log in and

dial-up. This has taken place every time to be done for starting a browser and surfing it as the
connection gets automatic.
Apart from this, the broadband connections have always been every time. They have never
waited for various dial-up connections when the Internet is used. It denotes that productivity can be
improved apart from waiting for connections. Besides, broadband connections have consisted of
fixed price [8].
7. Conclusion:
The study has demonstrated that access to broadband connection has been a vital and integral
part of the world-wide culture. Here a brief review has been provided regarding various factors as
the broadband connections are considered. The multiple assimilations and technologies are
conducted most suitable for any particular situation. Here, the fibre-based techniques have been
more cost expensive as per fibre-based technologies. The subscribers have desired both wireless and
wireline access to broadband service. Besides, there are different drawbacks that have made the
popular methods of broadband to get connected over the Internet. The study has helped in
understanding that bandwidth can be undoubtedly regarded as the future telecommunication. This
sector has been developing as the customer demands are raising. At the same time, efficient
researchers are also needed to be done to provide better quality products in future. Simultaneously,
investigations have also been conducted to ensure a better quality product.
