AI Summary
This report presents a network planning and design solution for Colour Ability Corporation, a marketing and advertising firm with offices in Brisbane and Sydney. The report addresses the company's need for a secure and reliable communication channel between departments and locations. It covers system planning requirements, including hardware recommendations (processors, memory, hard disks, etc.) and costs, and evaluates printer options. The proposed network architecture includes external routers, servers, and access points, with consideration of internet service providers (ISPs) and their bandwidth offerings. Internal services such as Wi-Fi, cable internet, and DSL are discussed, along with the necessity of wired connections, firewalls, and battery backups. Subnetting, IP addressing, and network security measures are also detailed, culminating in recommendations for a robust and scalable network infrastructure to support Colour Ability Corporation's business operations.

Networking Planning and Design
Executive Summary
The main agenda of the network is ideally to set up a transmission channel that is able to interact within
the specified channel. Resources such as printers and other network devices that are used for file
sharing will be implemented in the network. The aim of this network create an easy way of interaction
among the employees In the company.
Introduction
Being a film corporation, they deal with film shooting, editing rendering etc. the company consist of only
80 employees and is located in Brisbane CBD and are planning to lay up another office at Sydney in three
months’ time. On the Brisbane has rented 4 floors that consist of marketing, advertising, design and
photography, finally it has human resource and accounting 1.
Their machines are simple and are connected through a 14 /10-100 mb switches (with 10 port at each
end). Their machines consist of 2GB RAM, 250 GB HARD DISK storage hdd Win 7 with CD/DVD
Read/Write drives and 7 ports. To add on top there is a utilized pc’s with 4 GB memory with 500 GB hard
drive to run to run on a specific design editing team that consist of 10 employees that is shared among
the graphical and editing team1.
The core objective is simply to layout design and establish a secure and reliable communication channel
between all departments and also in the unassigned office in Sydney.
Activity 1:

Memory: (Type, Amount) The memory that is perfect in this project is
4 GB DDR3 and above. The cost of this is
A$100.00-A$230.00.

Hard Disk (Type , Capacity ) A big storage is required to change the for
storing video and editing software

Modulation and demodulation of signal data
is the major activity being undertaken by the
modem. The difference between and
internal and external is that the internal is
mounted to the motherboard and the
external is connected through a specific
given port .The speed of each varies with the
network connectivity.

There some shared devices that not every machine can should have. Such devices include;
Printer, scanners etc.
Activity 2:
The issue of printers one must consider given factors and criteria such the efficiency, reliability and
derivability of the printer. As an organization it is good for them to use Sharp MXC300W. This is because
it will sustain their requirements and meet their expectations. It is also build in with wireless
connectivity hence making more freeness and increase the productivity of the organization.
Activity 3
At Sydney their offices communicates to an external router that is connected to the internet
service provider, Brisbane is assigned an external router that is then connected to a server and
a backup server which only is accessible to the managerial team. More so it’s connected to the
four levels of the department that’s is the design and editing, marketing, advertising and
photography. There both interlinked with the ISP that gives out the internetwork infrastructure
for both to communicate. There also some access point that provide a Wi-Fi to some other
devices besides machine, this basically works as a single entity that is usually connected to the
router as a device.

Activity 4
One of the major ISP’s work is to connect given electronic devices to the internet. It’s the safest
way for an organization to sign in and enroll to a ISP Service License Agreement and on this the
backbone commodity that is needed to give internet access all through for 24 hours for 7 days
in a week. In this region the3 major ISP, and their band width are.

Activity 5
Some of the internal Services that the company must offer for a complete ISP include:
Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) this has generally become one of the most widely speeded way to
access the internet. I say this because it is able to cover a given area or a dedicated location set
this is due to the ability of devices to access it3.
Internet Access Technologies given a protocol suite it is able the exchange information and
data.
Cable Internet which provides a high bandwidth cable to transmit internet to residential area.
This is among the most preferred in the context.
Dial up Internet Access is highly regarded as old fashion because it is slow though it is simply
the cheapest in the market.
Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN). It ensures the conveyance of better communication
and data transmission along a telephone line reducing information lost along the way.

Ethernet providing a transmission speed of up to 10Mbps and above
DSL (Digital Subscribed Loops) this is more similar to the Dial up technology only that this
ensure Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), this also allows the conveyance of internet
and telephone on the same line.
Wireless Broadband (WiBB) this is the modest internet access technology allowing the
conveyance of high speed internet within a large range area. It uses the microwave technology
where there is the transmitter and the receiver on the other end. The waves are then
demodulated and behold you have internet.
Activity 6
Are wired connection required? Yes, on some instance since someone on the
network needs to share some huge files or
save it to the server.
Wireless standard? The level of the standard when it comes to
cable should be a priority since it needs to be
able to have a strong and manageable
bandwidth and be able to transmit data in
high frequency band of data and
communicate easily within the network.
Firewall Required? Yes, this is to be able to manage the inlet and
outlet traffic and also secure the channel
ISP connectivity required? Yes, so as for the internet service provider to
be able to issue the internet to the company
and be able to access it in the computer.
Type of ISP connectivity? Wireless (Wi-Fi)
Cabling
Ethernet
Dial – up

Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)
Internal or external modem required? Internal is more required than the external ,
so as to finalize and establish a connection
between the two ISP and computer
Cable Required? Yes,
Cat 6 is the most preferred since it is fast.
Battery Backup Required? A backup generator is more appropriate since
it automatically goes on when the lights goes
off.

static type it does not share nor change itself to hosting webpages or service every time
it receives the internet
Dynamic simply taken from a list of unidentified IP addresses and is able to change each
time it accesses the internet4.
Being assigned a private network simply means it has a reserved and dedicated working ip
address range. By bringing the two together it will simply reduce overlapping and duplication
of. Communication between private and public is quite different .in public network are able to
be seen in public access machines while the private ones highly secure themselves behind
certain firewalls restrictions.
Recommendation and conclusion:
On such a network planning, the networking is clearly on to its best capability and is able to last
for ages and ages, also the machines, are super machines and are able to withstand any
challenges. In my conclusion all the departments are able to interact and share data and
information.
