Part 1: The required informations
In order to develop an effective network system, it is necessary to consider the various
requirements of the new design and work accordingly. The Barranquilla Plaza Hotel wants to
redesign the existing network so that it can improve its network system. A plan is being made to
incorporate a new version of the network system that will help in the numerous operations of the
hotel. The issues that are being faced in the present scenario needs to be eradicated by
implementing the new network system and thus this is the primary target of the hotel
administration.
Questionnaire for the network users
1) What is the coverage potential of the wifi signal that is being provided?
2) What are the problems if any regarding the buffering of the videos?
3) If users are facing problems such as call drops in the voice calling or the video calling process?
4) Is the downloading speed being affected by the errors in the network?
5) Can the users of the network share files in between the devices connected to the network?
6) Are the various network devices of up-to-date version that are being used to give wireless
connection to the hotel rooms?
7) If the used hardware and associated software are of up-to-date versions?
Questionnaire for the officials in the Management
1) What is the average count of the users accessing the network?
2) Which regions of the hotel premises require wireless connectivity?
3) When was it that the hotel had implemented the network system that exists at present?
4) What are the security breaches that the hotel has faced recently?
5) Is it required for the hotel officials to operate or monitor the network system from a different
location that is in accordance with the business requirements?
Questions concerning the IT Staffs
1) Among the available internet plans which best suits the purpose of restructuring the network
system?
2) In what way is the hotel going to utilize the wireless connection?
3) If in house server or cloud based server is being used in the project and what are the facilities with
regard to security of the network?

The Questionnaires purpose
A plan needs to be systematic and well organized in order to be successfully executed. In this
scenario the questionnaires are there to serve as a guideline in the process. These will help in
understanding the present issues along with the associated challenges thus providing a direction to
the work. The feedback that will be obtained from the questionnaire will be used to get an idea of
the prevailing problems related to the network from the various departments they have been
addressed to. It will serve as a comprehensive outline for the issues being faced thereby helping in
the redesigning process.
Verification and Validation Plan
Analysing the present situation of the network system of the hotel will give an idea about
the issues being encountered and the challenges in the process of implementation. The main thing
that will help in the redesigning is the customer reviews mainly of the dissatisfied ones as it will
provide a clear idea what is concerning the users. In order to make the necessary improvements in
the existing design of the network it is necessary that the expectations of the customers are met.
The presently available floor plan is to be analysed so that the access points needed can be counted.
This is mainly for finding out how many access points are present and how many more are required
for the new design. There could be some elements in the existing network that could be added to
the new network design for the necessary improvisation.
Part 2: Restructuring the Network and associated Documentations
The expenses related to the project implementation are a primary factor. The estimation of
the related costs and the analysis of this same would be effective in optimizing the cost to the hotel.
The software and the hardware related costs if estimated properly can aid the process of execution.
Estimations made will provide a clear idea on how much the cost the hotel can bear and accordingly
the investments and further plans could be made.
It is required to analyze if there exists proper communications in between the staffs and the
users those who are accessing the network based on the network resources. Any hindrances in the
process of communication should be found out and respective network devices and resources
deployed during the redesigning project. The area that the new design would cover requires proper
measurement as they are to be connected by the access points. The length of the network cable
needs proper calculation as it would help in the process of installation of the required access points
that are essential for the new network design.

Estimated cable length and coverage area adds to the estimation costs thus guiding the
overall cost of the estimation. The successful execution of the new network design relies upon the
resources that are available and estimated cost thus requiring accuracy in both these areas. The
wireless network needs to be incorporate area wise so that it proves to be effective and efficient.
Proper monitoring of the network’s performance in each section will help in the area wise
implementation of the network. The application profiles are a primary factor as if these are created
then the network’s speed and performance can be tracked. Application profiles will help to establish
a strong control on the entire network and thus aid in resolving the various issues that to in an
efficient manner. These profiles can be a medium to share the informations of the VLAN amidst the
connected devices, the assistance configuring VTY server thereby improving the process of sharing of
the clients’ informations. It is difficult to carry out multiple configurations of the different switches
thus application profile can be way out of this problem. The network switches if configured to the
VTP servers do not require any multiple configurations. Accurate informations about the service
demands and other relevant details for example the server requiring better speed, server requiring
improvements and servers high in demand can be determined from the application profiles. On the
basis of these informations bandwidth usage can be provided that in turn will curb on the wastage of
the bandwidth of the network. It is important to work on the standard compliance and the
performance metrics before the network design is selected. This will help to resolve the issues that
are linked to the network’s performance. Preventing the non-compliance of the network devices will
help to ensure that the performance of the new network is optimized. Redundant link is another
important factor that needs to be considered while designing the infrastructure of the network. This

will ensure that data packets be sent to devices present at the destination without any compromises
being made related to the accuracy of the data transfer depending on the new design of the
network.
