UMUC Library Network Design Proposal: Network Services and Security

This report presents a network services design proposal for the UMUC library, focusing on essential services and robust security measures. The proposed network services include Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, file and storage, remote desktop services, print and document services, user access logging, and an application server, all to be provided by Windows Server 2012 R2. The justification for each service is provided, highlighting how they will enhance network management, resource allocation, and user access. Furthermore, the report outlines network security measures using McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection Business software, encompassing anti-malware, management, web and messaging security, and data protection. Regular user and administrator training, along with information assurance protocols, are proposed to ensure the ongoing security and integrity of the library's network. The document concludes with a reference list and bibliography supporting the design choices.
